Claim to strongly dislike Blizzard and avoid all of their products.
Then follow every piece of news and media relentlessly and comment on every youtube video as well as every wow forum how much you hate them and how much they suck.
That's Hater logic for ya all.
Forced bandwagoning, obviously.

Blizzard @#$%ed up with the new talent system, they changed it in cata, and in MoP you have like 6 talent points, so you can almost be a tank with gear, no need of talent points anymore...
Well except you know...for actually choosing a tank spec to get the abilities to actually tank and hold aggro of course.

WoW won't ever die, but at the same time, it will never be what it was during Classic-Wrath. They'll probably have, at the least, 1-60 F2P, an in-game shop for gameplay affecting benefits, reduced monthly fees, and maybe the occasional major patch.
What will make many leave though, is the over-hyped Star Wars game and the very likely amazing GW2.

I REALLY hope it will never be what it was during Classic.
Also, majority of people that leave for TOR and (not really amazing) GW2 will be back after the free month passes (or in case of GW2 even earlier).

WoW will "die" when Blizz are good and ready to let it "die". No sooner and no later.

Nothing is going to "kill" wow.
People are just going to stop playing it,and only a few people will stick around. (imo stupid people)
There are too many other games coming out offering a better experience for cheaper...
it's the stupid people who create accounts just to call others stupid people for having accounts...

No idea when WoW will die, but personally im not going to buy MoP.
I hardly play anymore, and other games are starting to be in a state where they can actually compete with WoW.
For now, my plans are to start play SWTOR when its released in december. Im playing beta atm, and even though it dosent seem to bring to much new into the MMO world, its something new.

WTF BLIZZ? Giving Allies shammys? WoW is dead i tell you! Shamans are only supposed to be horde and no one will play this stupid game anymore!
WTF BLIZZ? A class that starts at 55? That isn't right!11one!eleven!1 You are killing the game Blizz!
WTF BLIZZ? 10 and 25 mans giving the same gear rewards? Stop catering to the casuals Blizz. No one wants to play your stupid game anymore.
^^^ Sound familiar? There were more with each expac, but I didn't want to spend all day proving a point.
Ya left out something.
That since the end of TBC to the last reported subscription numbers...WoW has seen negative growth. That will soon be 3 years.
So maybe all those quotes you mentioned and those you left out had a point to them after all.
People keep calling the QQers just a minority of the WoW pop...but the numbers say otherwise.
In contrast Van/TBC saw astronomical growth. Wrath saw growth until April 2009 but were TBC levels by years end. So all those changes may have had a detrimental effect on the game after all.
Starwars:ToR...will bring some more interesting numbers and probably not favorable ones.
They will have Siths and Jedi's and Blizz is giving us Pandas to look forward to and although I am holding any opinion until much later since many things may eventually change, image carries a lot of weight.
Just look at the reactions over Transmorphing. So you can cut it anyway you like... but for some a panda is a panda and not exactly in the image of a "Warcrafter" toon.
One final note...anyone miss the guitar hero/rockband eulogy. Did everyone quit playing those games....no.
But enough did to make the companies decide it was no longer a sustainable/profitable project. A declining pop can start as a trickle and turn into a flood in no time, it's just the way trends move.
When will WoW die?...when they least expect it. :)

It die. Blizz wants it to die. Why else are they doing what there doing. Nothing connects. The story lines are so WAY off it not funnie. Cut seance talk about one thing and what going in game is so badly differant. NPC in 3 differant places at the same time. It like where sopposed to be ignorant. I guess they do figure 12 years olds are only ones who play. I rather see them get there head out there butts and set things right. One the big things i love about this game was the story line. That gone, there is no story any more. Unless your not watching everthing. Thrall line dont fit in the game. What is the forsakan crap they got going on. there n o way they should be on eather side. The allance story line is way off. Whin you go into a zone it all gose out the window.

Given the position of the moon and the angle of ascension of Mars, coupled with the continued existence of Ultima Online and Everquest servers (albeit at low population numbers), not for at least another 10 years. Will it continue to be the monolithic entity that consumes tens of millions of subscriber dollars for that entire time? No - but nor is it feasible in any way, shape, or form to really believe that any expansion is going to kill WoW. It's possible that Blizzard could suffer a collective aneurysm and pull a SW:G fiasco, but that's incredibly unlikely.

And those numbers they lost weren't the majority of the subs they had. Just like the whiners on the forums aren't the majority of the people playing. Those that aren't happy with the game will complain while those content will still play it. Its the same will most MMOs, when I played RuneScape it was the same and I'm sure its like that with Rift as well as GW and SWTOR will most likely have them as well.
Even then, most of the people whining will still continue to play while those serious about leaving will leave. And even then after they leave, there is a chance they may come back.

...no they don't. 1 million is far less than 11 million. They are very clearly a minority. The only way the negative subscription growth could indicate that the dissatisfied customers were a majority is if they comprised more than half of the subscriber base, and since you're linking "leaving the game" with "dissatisfied", that would mean a drop of roughly 6.1 million subscriptions - six times the 1 million that has been reported.

You have to interpret the numbers. Blizz is giving the sub losses by combining new subs to canceled subs. The number of people leaving is actually quite larger but offset by the new subs.
But the key is the arc of the two lines. They have crossed over. WoW is no longer sustaining it's population.
It is shrinking.
At the moment the QQers are quitting faster then Blizz can replace them. That's a majority.
You think an approx 9% decline in overall pop. is nothing for them to be concerned about.
You can bet your wages that they are.
1million sub losses equal 180 million in lost yearly revenues...try selling that to your stock holders along with how pandas are going to bring them all back.

And just like it does every major patch and expansion, the numbers will swing right back up then level out, same as they do after the dips.
