What I've always loved about World of Warcraft is the unique blend of experiences.
On one hand, it is a pretty gritty and hardcore world, no matter how you put it - it is purely lovecraftian, even the fact that we azerothians are made of flesh is a disgusting curse inflicted upon us by eldritch abominations beyond our imagination, our very makers were going to destroy us once for that, and our racial differences always get in the way of doing anything really good once, and only a worldwide danger can make squidfaces and greenies go together. On the other side, it contains unlimited supplies of cheesy fun, pop-culture puns so horrible that make you cringe, and so on and so forth.
Last expansions were heavy on the holy &*!@ we are all dead side. I am appreciating a lighthearted addon.
And I, for one, welcome our new panda overlords.
That means 56.1% have issues with it.
This is Blizzy fanbase. It will have issues with EVERYTHING

I don't like what I see with the talents. The more I can customize my character, the better.

Please amaze me with the depth of possible customization of this Protection paladin build.
One might only propose something like substracting a couple points to put into Hallowed Ground or something.
The trees are designed that way.
See, if you are specced into an offensive tree and there is an offensive spell of some sort, it is always a no brainer to grab. For example: Moonkin form. Is there a Balance druid who does NOT get Moonkin Form? Show me this druid. I will tear his horns out.
Therefore this specialization is truly not a form of specialization at all, and in the current way the talent trees are implemented there would have been no difference if all Balance druids just got this form at level 29 for free.

Regarding the talent tree revamp: it might look like Blizzard are homogenizing the classes, or taking away choice or - but no, they're really not. If this works out well, you will have 6
choices
that will be (at least partly, I hope) equally viable. Today, like many others have said in this thread - the majority of your build is composed of no-brainers like X% of damage to Y ability.
There are a
few
fun talents that you
could
choose but wouldn't because they are not good enough that may give the illusion of choice, but if you want to perform in either raids or PvP, theorycrafting has already decided what you need.

I think any extra choice the new talents give you is just as much of an illusion. Taking warriors as an example their 4th, 5th and 6th talents can easily be theorycrafted to provide the most pve dps. If there is any choice it's in the first three talents, but that is only because for the most part they are completely irrelevant to pve.
It's a direct proportion, as the the relevance of a talent increases so does the degree to which every little increase you can squeeze out of it matters. In the end, the only choice left is with the irrelevant talents.

The only thing about it I'm not interested in is Pet Battles. But that's fine, I just won't do them. I'll have too much fun with all the other content to worry about that.

Incidentally, our pets can 1v1 competitively, but the players themselves cannot (there's no integrated ingame system)

its because this game is only balanced (and I use the word loosely here) in pvp for team play.
on 1v1 there's classes (Like frost mages and rogues) who completely wipe the floor with others in a rather unfair way.

Whoever thought of the idea of
Pandas
should either be fired or not allowed to think. And it doesn't sound like Blizzard is making the game any more fun... just adding more of the same content

I guess I'm in the "I don't really care" category.
I haven't seen anything that's absolutely wowed me, but I haven't seen anything I hate either. Some things have definitely left me scratching my head, wondering what in the world they're thinking. But in the end, I'm definitely curious to see where they're going with it.

Exactly, it's a class based game. It's like TF2 spies saying that pyros need a nerf after playing 1v1 on an Arena server. Nothing's unbalanced, you're just doing it wrong.

No, their skill curve is just a flat horizontal line, with a small jump to a slightly higher horizontal line when you learn to time air blasts.

Eh, with Backburner it's not really beneficial to air blast though. Eats WAY too much ammo.

hence why I said I use the word "balanced" loosely.
it IS balanced for team play, but what size of the team we're talking about......... that mileage may vary, GREATLY.
one thing is fo sho, on 1 vs 1, there's classes that will ALWAYS win, due to the absurdity of their cooldowns (such as frost mages and their billion snares stuns and roots such that its near imposible to get to one as melee for more than 1 second)

I for one, am super excited. I love the medieval japanese theme of this expansion, and can't wait to play my pandaren monk alt :D, alliance of course.
.....That's not Japanese, that's a Chinese theme.
