[SPOILERS] Legendary Questline Links and Info
Return to board index
Oh, sure. I'll be restructuring this when 4.3 drops so it's looks and reads more like a guide, but I'll make sure to make certain things like start and end points, as well as requirements more prominent and succinct. Right now I'm just trying to collect and organize all the information I've datamined, and things I've been able to test and experience (as well as observe others do in some cases) into a single location for others to see.
Understandable, good luck :)
So here's a question for you as im not certain exactly how it works. Technically, have two questions for you.
Currently, im looking to get into the dragon soul not to complete the raid but primarily to begin the quest as a whole. Am I only able to do that at certain times, or am i able to at any point as long as im in a raid group...
Secondly, unlike some other guilds, our 25 man raid runs with 3 rogues, though they are swapped out occasionally if needed, I am the main rogue in the guild. What I was wondering is based on your guide, it seems as if all 3 rogues can get the stage one daggers at the same time, just by waiting for the pickpocket to respawn. Is this true? I understand the second part with the legendary gem things will be one rogue at the time we are assuming.
Some clarification would be lovelly. Thanks, btw love the guide have it as my front page to get new info :)
You should be able to pick up the quest at any point during a groups progression through Dragon Soul. On the PTR, Lord Afra has vanished a few times but I'm not sure why, other than the encounter devs at the time didn't feel like spawning him. You do need to pick it up before Hagara dies though, since Hagara is the one that needs to be pick pocketted.
And yes, we were able to get multiple Rogues the quest item by resetting the encounter when we first tested the boss. I have no clue if that will be true when 4.3 drops, but it will be one of the first things that I verify made it to live. Hopefully within a couple hours of the servers coming up too.
For what it's worth, this little gem was on MMO-Champ.
SPELL_FAILED_CUSTOM_ERROR_149 = "You cannot deconstruct Elementium Gem Clusters while collecting them!";
I would assume you would encounter that if you tried to open up an
Elementium Gem Cluster
Sharpening Your Fangs
EDIT: Heyo! Lots of stuff hit the PTR. Looks like I've got a busy night ahead of me.
Fangs of the Father
2 pieces: Your melee attacks have a chance to grant Shadows of the Destroyer, increasing your Agility by 17, stacking up to 50 times. Once you have acquired 30 stacks of Shadows of the Destoyer, each stack gained grants an increasing chance to trigger Fury of the Destroyer and cancel all stacks of Shadows of the Destroyer. Fury of the Destroyer immediately grants 5 combo points and causes your finishing moves to grant 5 combo points. Lasts 6 sec.
EDIT2: More spells of interest!
EDIT3: I've never been so happy for Patricide before now.
Destroy Deathwing and retrieve a Fragment of Deathwing's Jaw.
This quest requires the stage 2 daggers and, you guess it, a Fragment of Deathwing's Jaw. It seems logical that this would be the final quest, or next to final.
EDIT4: Stage 2 dagger names ripped from the quest text!
along with your daggers The Sleeper and The Dreamer
EDIT6: Looks like the quest line is starting to be finalized.
Any ideas on how the 'To catch a thief' part of the quest will work if the player is exhalted with ravenholdt?
I assume it will work the same for everyone. I could delve into details, but there's spoilers and such that I would have to talk about.
Had an issue yesterday, went to attempt to zone into dragon soul while i was in a raid group with a friend to try and start the quest line, not kill bosses, and it gave me a message saying must be level 85 and in a raid group. it wouldn't let me in.
first time ive done ptr stuff so im kinda new.
That's because they take the instance they are testing down whenever they don't have someone watching and working with raid groups on specific bosses. You need to be online, in a raid group, during a specific set of hours while specific mobs are spawns while it's on the PTR.
When 4.3 goes live I doubt you will have any issues getting into Dragon Soul and finding the NPC. I believe he's towards the entrance before you kill Morchok, and moves into Wyrmrest Temple after that.
Ahh thank you Panthal. I knew there was testing, didn't realize the instance itself wouldn't be open. I appreciate all the help, and this guide is truly amazing. I follow it like a hawk, great work man.
I have just tried the cheezy "sneak from the instance entrance and try to find Hagara" tactic and there seems to be no way to solo sneak to her.
From what I can see, you have to kill the first boss, then do something with a bunch of portals to get to the second. From there, who knows cuz the second appears to be at the top of the Wyrmrest Temple tower.
Hagara is in the Eye of Eternity, which was formerly part of the Malygos raid, if I am correct, or at least somehow part of The Nexus.
Indeed, I was able to sneak into the base of Wyrmrest Temple and the arrow in the mini-map for the "Proving your Worth" quest pointed far, far off to the northwest, almost certainly off the map. I tried to sneak/walk as far in that direction as possible but there are invisible walls beyond a certain point.
The "Proving your Worth" quest is available from an NPC (Lord Afrasastrasz) immediately inside the instance, even before any mobs are engaged. He can be found on the right.
Legendary dagger stage 1 stats
Credit to Sakuratei at Elitists Jerks.
I've noticed that some people are getting their hands on the Shadow Gem goods on the PTR. If you are in this position make sure you grab a picture and write which setting you got it from too, I'd greatly appreciate it.
So here's an interesting thought to throw out there, as we see it now as well as stats being revealed on phase 1 legendary daggers, blizzard stated that the daggers will be viable for combat, but by the looks of it that's not true.
Would it not be considered bad for a combat rogue to have a 1.8 dagger main hand over 2.6 axe, mace, or sword?
but by the looks of it that's not true.
Except you're wrong. The mainhand dagger increases the damage of SS, RvS and MG by 45%.
How so? didnt see any note on that.
that goes with the buff.
- Cluster Clutch (
Collect 50 Shadowy Gems from creatures in Dragon Soul. Quest text seems to indicate they will drop from Elementium Gem Clusters, but this seems somewhat odd. It could be a way to reduce the number of people working on the legendary at the same time if the Rogue is required to go back and loot the same item, albeit tedious.
Turn in to Wrathion, in Ravenholdt.
On Ptr 29/10/11 the Quest is 333 Shadowy Gem Clusters
Stage 1 Daggers:
Mh: Fear (
The reforge is Crit->Expertise on the screen.
Oh: Vengeance (
It took me 02:00 to get to 30 stacks and 03:30 to get to 50 Stacks (19%haste at normal rotation on dummy without tricks)
- Assassinate Creed
Find Creed - 58.6, 67.6 @Gilneas City) in the middle of the military district and kill him, enter in through Merchant's square and stealth to him, make heavy use of Sap and Distract. Zazzo will pull you out if you're bad at being a ninja. You can avoid the last few mobs by jumping into the stream under the bridge leading into the Military District.
Creed has 1,859,760 health, and is a two phase fight. He is susceptible to all forms of CC, incapacitates, snares, stuns, etc.
Phase 1 lasts until 75% health, he casts two spells:
- Consuming Darkness - 1 second cast that spawns an AOE underneath the player that does roughly 9k per tick.
- Blackhowl's Will - 1.5 second cast that hits the target for roughly 20k shadow damage.
In phase 2 he adds another spell to his arsenal:
- Shadow Breath - 1 second cast warm up, 3 second channeled duration that deals shadow damage in front of him. The channeled part of the cast is not affected by Mind Numbing Poison.
The fight is quite easy:
-Consuming Darkness: This can be completely avoided by running around him. When the cast finishes the Void appears where you stood when he started the cast. (Deals around 10k dmg)
-Blackhowl's Will - You will need to interupt this. I did so with Mind-Numbing Poison, but i guess you can do it without. This cast is quite rare.
-Shadow Breath - He wont turn while channeling, so just get around him.
ADD: He also has an Enrage at 10%. I didn't know that, so i had no evasion and got a 44k crit from him. Keep evasion for this, you dont need it before that.
I used flask, bufffood and kings scroll and never droped below 60%(except for the enrage at the end). Killed him on the first try.
Those were both updated at least 9 hours ago.
For the enrage on Assassinate Creed, are you sure that was because it was at 10% and not because you started to try and kite him and got too far? 44k crit sounds an awful lot like Blackhowl's Will with Blackhowl's Rage up, since nothing else hits for ~20k.
Blackwill's Rage doesn't appear to be activating at all. Also the Enrage isn't at 10%, I'm working to figure out what it is exactly, but I had it trigger at like ~20% for me.
EDIT: Logs and data dealing with how the stage 1 proc functions is being done on EJ right now. I'll bring that information over to here later, but right now it seems that it varies depending on the spec.
