I think wizards are much more believable than ghosts. After all, JK Rowling is a brave squib who's managed to tell the world all about Harry Potter's rise from a child celebrity to the saviour of the wizarding world from the dark evil of Voldemort - even against her family's wishes to keep her findings out of the Muggle world... It's all too precise to be fiction!
I've also got an excellent and credible
source
to back up the existence of alicorns (winged unicorns, horned pegasi or what have you), unicorns, pegasi and talking ordinary ponies - all with technicolor fur.

Not just Vlad for vampires. Huns, the marauder clans that caused a lot of trouble in Europe and Asia, used to drink the blood of their horses before battle, because they believed it gave them strength. In a battle, you would always see them with blood all around their mouths. People in the past have been known for being a little more superstitious than we are now.

Killerdin- you do know that Dante's Divine Comedy was a work of fiction, and that his circles of hell aren't in the Bible or anything, right?

As always, killerdinoblood, I ask of you that you provide me with scientific evidence. I'm sure that if it is obvious that they exist, there must be some evidence, no?
Because to be honest, ghosts
are
meh at best. 90% of all so-called scientific evidence out there is loosely based around eye witnesses who more often than not appear to be rather unstable.
If you are so certain of their existance, please show us evidence that does not originate in the Bible or any other religious text.
I know that you believe, and I respect that, but you need to respect that others believe differently than you do without trying to turn them or force your beliefs upon them.
And also, the correct term is heretic and it is not one to be used lightly.

On topic, well we know how the thread feels about ghosts, what about the idea of the Fae and their ilk?
I feel an immense hatred toward Disney and other such companies that invented the 'fairy' as opposed to the 'faerie' or 'fair folk' where there little sparkly balls of happiness and sunshine and goodness, when in reality they range from Goblins/Trolls to child-stealing human like monsters to goddamn vampire bat-monkey-snake monsters. The reason you say 'knock on wood' when you say something along the lines of 'at least you have your health' is so that the fairies don't hear you and mother#$%^ing kill you, because not only are they evil, they're evil with a good sense of irony.
Does that cover it?
You forget to mention the Brother Grimm and their Fairy Tales; which are dark as all hell. And technically, the Fae could appear as sparkly balls of light(Will O the Wisp anyone?) if they really wanted to. There are also two courts of Fae too, so one can be good....just not good the way we know it heh.
When I mean Sparkly Balls of Light I mean it in a SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS HAPPINESS FOR EVERYBODY sort of thing.
Then again, most of Disneys stuff are happy-go-lucky versions of the Brothers Grimm.
Isn't the one Court basically the fairies who like to troll you and mess with your stuff (hiding your car keys, etc.) and the other one doing stuff like stealing your babies and trashing your house?
Post by
Adamsm
Both Courts will steal your babies, but for different reasons: A Bright/Light/whatever word rhymes with 'good' Court member could steal your baby because you are a bad parent and they want it out of the way. The Dark/whatever word rhymes with bad Court member will steal the baby to eat it, raise it up as a villain things like that; both courts will leave changlings behind.....Light changlings just die, Dark changlings.....well, let's just say the after effects are very very very messy......
And there are still Fae just like that, just without the over all animated version of the Disney stuff...

I have no way of knowing whether there are supernatural entities
. Like others have mentioned, I err toward not believing in supernatural entities - not necessarily because I think they do not exist, but because I think that the definition "supernatural" is a cop-out.
I find no reason to believe there are things outside or above nature; by their very existence, they are natural, even if they are scarce. Just because we cannot (yet) explain them does not make them above or outside nature.

Why would we go to hell (which doesn't not exist imo) for not believing in the supernatural?
Especially since the modern-day vision of Hell - the one that you link to on Wiki, killerdinobloo (the Dante-esque Hell) - does not exist in similar detail in any accepted church doctrine that predates the publication of The Inferno?
By the way, the concept of 'ghosts' is not considered 'Christian' doctrine by many denominations, because according to their interpretation of Biblical scripture, the souls of the dead are currently in their graves awaiting Judgment Day, not wandering around the world haunting people or chatting with their living loved ones.

It's the old misconception that atheism and agnosticism are mutually exclusive.

I guess I can expound a bit on why I chose that. Maybe it will make sense (or maybe it will make people think I'm a weirdo, but I am being completely honest here):
When I was a junior in high school, I regularly had marching band practice three nights a week. Since I had my driver's license, my parents let me drive myself. One night at practice, several of us out on the field saw, well, strange lights in the sky. We chatted about it but I didn't give it any more thought.
On the way home from practice, I regularly took a route down a very rural gravel road that cut through the "spoil banks" (tree-studded hills leftover from years of strip mining in the area). As I drove past an area that had recently been slash-and-burned back from the road, I saw a an orange light back in the woods. I stopped and got out of the car to make sure it wasn't a a forest fire. After realizing I didn't smell smoke, I got immediately (so I thought) back in my vehicle and drove home.
When I got home, my parents immediately launched into me - why was I home so late? I asked them what they meant; I hadn't taken any longer than normal, practice got over at 9:00 and it took me about twenty minutes to drive home.
Turns out it was about 10:30 at night.
When we went back out to the car the clock radio showed 9:09 PM - roughly the time I guessed I'd stopped. It took pulling the battery cables on the car for the clock to start keeping time properly.
Now, with all that being said: I don't believe that what I experienced was supernatural. I think that it has a perfectly natural explanation; I just have no idea what that explanation might be. However, having experienced one of those events people typically refer to as supernatural, I recognize that the events do occur - so to say that I don't believe those entities exist is wrong, I think they do; I just disagree that they are somehow outside or above nature.

supernatural
entities?
I agree that, while your story is most definitely strange and perplexing, there is almost certainly a natural explanation. Even if it was a freakin' alien abduction, (which I still find unlikely, but for different reasons), that would still be a natural explanation. It fits into the boundaries set by the laws of physics, and could thus be considered natural.

I believe that all spirits, gods, and goddesses exist, and have as much power over us as we believe them capable of, though many just exist beyond our scope or touch.
Kind of like how they are in The Sandman comics, I guess. :)
