...I would recommend you pick the game up even if that mod wouldn't exist, but sure. Just don't expect me to play it anytime soon, there is going to be a special event in Warframe this weekend.
Eh. I've been procrastinating off on getting it because.
Just because.

Yup
Which ones are you familiar with?

Rogue, Brogue, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Moria, TOME, IVAN, Angband, Nethack, DoomRL Dungeons of Dreadmor, ADOM....
...the works.

Neat, I've heard of most of those and played Brouge, Nethack, tried DoomRL (Didn't like the theme), and currently playing some Stone Soup, which is a favorite of mine. Brogue is pretty nice too.
Got any favorites yourself?

TOME and Nethack are probably my two favorites.

Nethacks the one that got me into roguelikes, I might have to revisit it sometime. Are there any good tilesets for it? I'm afraid Stone Soup's spoiled me.
TOME looks very interesting, I might check that out too.

You can go
full isometric
with Nethack. It's quite awesome.

Oh my god that does look awesome!

This x1000000. I could never get into (Z)Angband. ToME is just awesome (I have an old 2.35 version saved on my comp), even if I never get very far. It has a great atmosphere and a lot of work put into it. Assuming, of course, you aren't referring to TOME 4.0, in which case you can consign yourself to the pit >.>
Nethack is my favorite, though. Never come close to beating it, though I've gotten fairly far. I always die to stupid things, though.

I'm afraid that's not my type of game.

What characters do you guys usually roll with?
I'm sticking with a centaur gladiator in Stone Soup. I just picked up playing again a week ago and I can make it to floor 8 pretty consistently, though ghosts keep ripping my crap up. Or I die to stupid mistakes.

I never run the same character twice in a row. I always switch it up.

This ^
I usually pick a thief type first, then mage. I skip the straight up hack and slash characters, though.

Ahh. Part of the reason I'm using a Centaur Gladiator is because that's what popped up when I randomized the character. I'm trying to make an effort to ascend with him. I normally stick with a character for a few deaths and move on to another, but I figured I'd change it up a bit this time around.

Civilization V: Brave New World.

Pre-ordered. I love Civ V, and I own all content there is to it. It is also one of the few games that my girlfriend loves too, and we have a lot of fun playing it together.
The new stuff that is being added is pretty amazing too. Trade routes look sweet, but what I really like to see is the improvements they are doing to the end game with the introduction of tourism, great works of art, and the importance of the three large policy trees (autocracy, order, and... that third one). The end game in Civ V was always getting a little bit daunting and aside from besieging the entire world, there wasn't THAT much you could do.
I also really like all the new civs that they are adding, I can not wait to play Venice, Morocco and Poland.
Sucks that Europe is gonna get it a few days later than the US. I don't know what the deal is there, but I hate it. I bet Ashelia is gonna start playing it the day it comes out and it will keep popping up in the lower right corner and taunt me all the time. (already happened with Gods and Kings)
By the way, the only roguelike I really play is Dungeons of Dredmor. D: I am such a roguelike newb. But I like Dredmor a lot. I also got a ton of mods into it, and was thinking of making some of my own. And I have never actually beaten it. What I find a little sad is that fighters usually have it easy because of their awesome resistances (from heavy armour), and mages/rogues are rather weak in that department, and the resistances actually matter a lot in the later levels. With a mage/rogue built character, you just eventually walk into a floor where you do not oneshot things anymore, and when they reach you, you get owned.
btw, Slightly disappointed that the only person that reacted to the huge Witcher 2 mod on the previous page is Interest.

I like Civ 5, but its programming is broken. As the game progresses, turns take longer and longer to process. I've been playing through a game as the Soviets (Catherine + Full Order tree :P) and it's taking me like 10 full minutes just to load the game.

Well, Civ V can get pretty heavy as the game progresses; more cities, units,
etc
. However, I have never had a similar problem as yours, just game crashes when I try to load Hyper Europe (a HUGE fan-made map that cover beautifully all of Europe, look it up on Steam) sometimes. But that's easily fixable updating my drives. I assume you already tried that, right?
@Thror: It looks sweet, did you see the thing about the game remembering your old skirmishes for Archeology?

I thought long loadings were sort of the staple of Civ 5. It takes a while to load a game to me too. Not 10 minutes though. I should try to measure the time today when I load up my late-game session for England, but my rough guess would be 2~3 minutes loading.
Yeah, in place of old battles, there are going to be archaeological digsites. I wonder if it will be possible to remake a tile improvement into a digsite. You know, imagine a battle in the ancient age takes place on top of a Farm, and then you advance many years in to the future, can you transform that farm into a digsite? Can the digsites even be on the same spot as a tile improvement? Wouldn't the farm just "overwrite" the digsite and make it impossible to use it later? And so on.
Also, have you seen the X-Com Squads on the screenshots? It's a new type of infantry unit, basically an extremely obvious X-com reference. They look totally like heavily armored dudes from X-Com Enemy Unknown.
