Fantastic free game!

Beyond Good and Evil is really enjoyable so far. Really reminds me most of Psychonauts, I think, but with less of a creepy Tim Burton vibe.
The
music
is
absolutely
wonderful
.
And I love any game that will give me Rasta Rhinos, Air Hockey playing Sharks, and a kickass racially ambiguous woman protagonist.

Mike B did a
great video
of this game recently. It definitely looks interesting. I work at an IT university, and I totally look forward to showing that game to some of the students here. I think from a programming viewpoint, it is a bit of a marvel. And whoever did the level design is either really good at it, or a newborn great talent. Backed up with a soundtrack that is solid as hell, and the fact that it is free, there is no reason anyone should not at least try it.

Why couldn't they wait until next week when I would be paid?

Well I did get paid for some painting and I might just be able to buy Bioshock Infinite. If not this week, then next week for sure.

Played a bit of Bioshock Infinite as it came out. Game is pretty badass. I uploaded a
bunch of screenshots
from the first hour-or-two of gameplay.
Also, the pre-order bonuses on Steam were pretty awesome, once they unlocked all the tiers. I basically got a free copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Not a game I was particularly giddy to play, but it looks like a fun game for when I will have nothing better to do. (I know what XCOM is about, I have seen about a million vids from TB and Angry Joe and one entire playthrough by a Polish LPer.)
Before Bioshock came out on midnight, I was totally blasting some "
Sword of the Stars: The Pit
", which is a sci-fi rogue-like dungeon crawler... it's a really neat game. When I play on Normal, I usually die around floor 7~8, and I started a test playthrough on Easy, and got to like floor 12 and still didn't die. I'm super curious about what dangers and loot lie in the deeper levels of the dungeon.

Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Enough said.
It's on the way for me. I got dat 3DS.
I actually have a lot of games on my plate now:
> PC
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (still a little over halfway done with main story...also finished Dead Kel DLC and it was absolutely fantastic - had a keep upgrading mechanic that felt like Crossroad Keep from NWN2 but vastly better).
(soon) Fortune Summoners (localized by Carpe Fulgar LLC and thus I am curious. I guess I can't get enough of these doujins)
(still have to 100% Recettear - it's such a *!@#$ and I swear to god it requires a good 3 months of dedicated gameplay to do it.)
> Console
2 Pokemon games. Trying to catch up for generation 6. Also heard some good things so...why not?
and dat FE: Awakening.

Monday I should be getting Fallout 3. Looking forward to playing that.
In about 3 weeks, maybe less, I'll get my own copy of Bioshock Infinite. Then maybe some time after that Sim City
Going to rent God of War Ascension as soon as I get it from Gamefly. Still waiting for them to send me ME2, but for some reason they won't so I have ME3 sitting here.

I'm
really
enjoying Bioshock Infinite right now. I move slowly through these games so please no spoilers but I just wanted to exclaim somewhere how special this game is!
I couldn't really afford to spend so much on it (I'm usually very happy to wait 6 months and get things for £5-10 from Steam) but I found a copy for 30% off and I'm very glad I did.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

So hey,
HSR
. What do you think about the
Numenera
setting? I have to say I find it pretty amazing! I have read the novel that they put out and liked it, and really, all the info they have given about it was pretty badass and original. Heck, I am even tempted to play the tabletop Numenera roleplaying game, when it comes out.

I have not looked into the Numenera setting much at all, and I don't do much with tabletop games. I actually don't really care about the setting too much. They made a good game in the Planescape setting and honestly I think they could make a good game in almost any other setting if they put their minds to it. I'm glad they got to chose the one they wanted, as I think it will definitely increase the quality. What really made PST for me were the characters and the philosophical motifs. So those are what I'm especially looking for in TTN.

Indeed. Speaking of characters, I was actually quite surprised when I read the description for the "companion quests" stretch goal. They were like "you are not gonna find out this and that about this character" and I was like "wait, if that stretch goal would not be reached, those things would not be in the game?", it might just be that they have chosen unfortunate examples, but it sounded like they originally wanted to make the interaction with companions without sidequests. Needless to say I am glad that stretch goal was hit.
And really, if you didn't read the novel yet, I would recommend to
check it out
. It is like, 10 pages or so.
Did you read any book from Pat Rothfuss?

So I'm been playing Red Orchestra 2. Kind of an obscure WW2 shooter, set in the Eastern Front. Thus far, it's the most realistic shooter I've ever played. Even the tanks are driven from first person from the perspective of a driver looking out a viewport, and require a crew of 4 to operate.

I've been involved in enough Kickstarters and I build enough custom software to know that that stretch goals are inherently broken. Feature X rarely actually costs $500k, and there is no reason to assume that feature X is more important than feature Y a couple of levels down that supposedly has the same cost. I understand the motivational purpose they serve once the main goal has been met, but they are rarely fair or accurate.
And yes I have read Pat Rothfuss's Kingkiller books.
