Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
A blast from the past. This old ass game may have terrible graphics, but lemme tell you, playing a Vampire has never been so much fun. You get to complete quests, hack computers and fight baddies and supernatural baddies in the body of a vampire, with all the awesome vampire abilities at your disposal. The quest system and especially the character development system are extremely old school (which is not a bad thing to say in my opinion, quite te contrary) and well designed. While normal hack and slash fighting is still satisfying, the game also gives one the ability to be stealthy, and this is where I found the most fun in combat parts of the games. Sneaking behind the enemies and silently dispatching them is just totally awesome.
yes. Yes. YES!
I love this game. Nosferatu master race reporting in. I don't know if you've heard about it, but some people have created an unoffical patch that fixes up a lot of bugs and adds more to the gameplay. If you haven't already, you can check it out
here
.
Not playing a Nosferatu tho. I do not like how they can not access a couple sidequests... and doing quests the "Stealth way" (which is supposed to be a counterbalancing source of exp for Nosferatu) is possible for non-Nosferatu vampires too, so I still get moar exp. D: I must say though that after a few talks with people and stuff, I find Nosferatu pretty cool. They work similar to the Shadow Broker in Mass Effect. The lore is something I didn't highlight sufficiently in that small paragraph I have written about VtM, which I should have... cause it is gorgeous. I really like all that Camarilla/Anarchs/Sabbat stuff and the clans and the vampire jargon (kindred, thin-bloods, ghouls, etc.). Granted that a vast majority of the setting was not actually made by the creators of VtM but is taken from the tabletop RPG setting, but still it's pretty good.
I wish Drakensang (another RPG game that has been made from a tabletop RPG ruleset and setting and stays quite true to the ruleset) would be this good. But unfortunately, Drakensang was super. Crap.
Also, I had like seven billion typos in that post with the three games, what he hell. I was probably writing it at like three in the morning.
Anyway, so noone else is looking forward to Deus Ex: Human Revolution or wat? Comes out in 16 bloody days (in Europe, that is. Americans are gonna get it three days earlier, grrr). I think it looks brilliant. Cyberpunk setting? YES. RPG? YES. Cybernetic body upgrades? YES!

For those who like the real challenging games, I recommend Devil may cry (before the 4), and Shadow of the Colossus.
Super Meat Boy (dark world), and Jamestown on Divine difficulty, my friend. You do not find the
real
challenge in mainstream titles.

Hard to avoid sounding like one since I got immersed in the indie games scene. :3

Have you played Shadow of the Colossus? Or it's prequel/sequel/original game Ico? Those games had a nice solid difficulty added to them.

No. He just said what he considers good challenging games, and I said what I consider good challenging games. If you played both Shadow of the Colossus and Super Meat Boy or Jamestown, maybe you could say which one were harder in your opinion. /shrug
I have been checking out Shadow of the Colossus a few times in the past, and it didn't look like my cup of tea.

That gives me a sad, as I think that's one of the most beautiful games on the PS2....and really need to get a PS3 since the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus pack is coming out in Sept heh.
