Do you remember when...
Hunter's deadzone was larger? And actually a deadzone?
Death Knights didn't exist?
There was a caster legendary?
Feign Death actually could cause death?

-When demo locks were basically the gods of vanilla (Infernal loosing was the most fun I ever had in this game, not gonna lie).
-Class quests required you to go to special places, which was epic. Still was a pain in the @$$ at times (Did the pally SFK quest solo because of a low-pop server... ugh), but I loved them nonetheless... :( STILL PISSED THAT DK'S DON'T HAVE CLASS QUESTS BESIDE THEIR STARTING ZONE! Or any other class for that matter...
I've played a lock since vanilla. Never went demo until Cata. I'm sad I missed out on something :(
Anyways, yes buying books for my pets.
Thanking the heavens that my level 40 mount was free (I had maybe 20g on me), and being glad I knew of a lock who had already bought the items for the Dreadsteed, so it saved me a lot of money!
Remember when you had to do that long ass quest chain to unlock the Ony raid?
Oh, and Ret Paladins = lol

Remember when you rolled Druid because the original in-box manual stated you could use Polearms? And then you waited another four-five years before you were ever actually allowed to equip those Polearms. That same in-box manual also said you could have Dwarf Mages among other rumors untrue since Beta...

I got one that will take a serious old school player to remember...
Remember before Naxxramas was first introduced, a bugged version of the launch event was published, and Ironforge/Orgrimmar were a ghost town cause you went there and the plague would get you and kill you and you rez and die again nearly instantly... was for only about a day or two until they got it fixed... but was hilarious.

- When mounts had no armor.
- Reg flying costed over 1k gold and required level 70.
- When Kara and other TBC raiding was un-nerfed.
- When Naxx was a difficult 40 man level 60 raid you had to be attuned for.
- When draenei females had the "Do gnomes have a vibrate setting? Just.. just wondering." joke.
- When Shamans had Ancestral Link to split damage among tank and 2 others in Wrath Beta.
- When Humans had to cast perception and it was a CD.
- When Draenei had Inspiring AND Heroic Pressence depending on class.
(Boy did that make raiding fun! Seriously!)
- When Dwarves could track treasure.
- When gnomes were the smallest playable race in WoW without competition.
- When Goblins were neutral
- There were no summoning stones.
- The only way to PvP was world PvP, I.E. SOUTHSHORE RAIDS!
- You could FFA PvP in the Gurubashi arena stands.
-Children's Week was non-exsistant.
- Darkmoon Faire never exsisted.
- When ZG first came out.
- When Ahn'Qiraj first opened.
- When there was no Weather effects.
- When BGs weren't cross realm
- When reg riding training costed 80g+ at level 40 for REGULAR mount.
- When Brewfest didn't exsist (Germans or part-germans like me can cry now... /cry)
- When Guilds didn't have banks.
- THE SCOURGE INVASION!
- Mounts were obtainable at level 30 after a patch.
- There was no equipment manager.
- The only paid service was realm transfer
- Sunwell's release date.
- People didn't need Battle.net accounts to log on.
- Onyxia was level 60 40-man.
- When there were 40 man raids in general
- When there were no Heirlooms
- When Bolvar was regeant lord of SW and Onyxia was cleverly hiding in the throne room.
- When there were no flying mounts.
- When Epic 100% ground mounts costed over 200-300g at level 60.
- When Epics were Epic and purple was revered and not given away *Cough* TBC (Mostly Wrath)*Cough*
- When Epics were from high-end raids or extremely low drops from level 55-60 dungeons/instances.
- Almost every raid required you to be attuned or have a member carry a specific item.
- The Leeroy Jenkins incodent first occured.
- When you had to choose a hair style you liked because you're stuck with it forever.
- There were no achivs.
- The Human raced player characters looked like Southshore citizens in Old Hillsbrad Foothills in Vanilla Beta
- When there was multiple stages of experiance gain and if you killed too much you got a experiance deduction and had to stay in an inn for 8 hrs to regain atleast normal experiance in vanilla beta.
- When Inn keepers were seen as divine beings in WoW for returning your precious experiance gaining after a 'few' hours in Vanilla Beta.
- The Onyxia wipe. (MOAR DOTS! MOAR DOTS! Ok, stop dots)
Edits: Adding things and fixed one of the entries, thanks Timanous, been awhile since I did TBC heroics, I forgot about that.

I remember....
When Heroics were hard, and fun, had
DIFFERENT
loot and even new mechanics.
When gear actually looked pretty cool.
When there was no LFD channel except for Trade or gchat.
When Fury Warrs used two one handed weapons and were DAMN FINE WITH IT!
When PvP didn't matter and skills were changed based on PvE.
When a Mage could two shot your ass with a PoM / Pyro.
When you had to do daily quests for badges that required you to loot some random item from the final boss.
When people didn't skip bosses.
When people had fun playing the game, and quit if they didn't.
When two resto-druids would dual outside Gruuls Lair while the raid formed.
When a majority of the people had an idea of what they were doing.
When a Boss spanked you and you cried for a Nerf, Blizzard said "LOL" and you dealt with it, learned the fight and got it done.
When IQD ganking was reason for people to QQ on the forums (mainly about the guards response though.)
When Windfury Totem had the same effect as Windfury Weapon and Melee rejoiced.
When long quest chains like Netherwing or Orgi'la even Sha'tari existed and gave you something to do / have fun with at top end.
When it was just Blizzard Entertainment not Activision / Blizzard.
