Do Dk's still get ridiculed purely for playing their class?

Eight random Death Knight tanks queing for a random dungeon (heroic?) is such a large sample size that really shows the class as a whole for all the niches it fills no matter what. I hope you continue your amazing data collection and continue to inform the world with your rich well formulated and well backed opinions.
This was simply the most recent memory I've had of encounters with deathtards. Nowhere did I say that this was the only time I've seen a death knight geared wrong, specced wrong, and/or playing wrong.
Thank you for that wonderful dose of anecdotal evidence, I love how you back your arguments with a very very specific lack of any actual data.
Let's be honest though. I know (or at least I
hope
) you could have figured that out just from reading my post. You were simply jumping on an opportunity to try to make someone else look like an idiot.
I sincerely appreciate the sarcasm though. Really adds to the discussion, it does.
Yes, yes I was. Because you
ARE
an idiot. There is enough bad players on every class, and god damn if there isn't enough anecdotal evidence on this forum that pretty much every class in every role has a huge playerbase of stupid. You're just being a condescending %^&*. I DPSed a random on Sunday that had a Prot Paladin in leather gear gemmed for Intellect, thus all Prot Paladins are bad. Does that make ANY sense to you? I'm not saying don't gearcheck tanks before they start pulling, but gearcheck ALL tanks. Their is just as likely a chance that there will be a bad Paladin, Druid, or Warrior tank.
Edit: Just was in
another
heroic where the DK tank was geared completely wrong. Just a crazy coincidence, I guess.
Actually, that's exactly what it is. I'm surprised on how quick you're picking up this statistics stuff.

I've also seen a kitty druid trying to tank, warrior tanks using two-handers, paladin tanks in intellect-gear...
WoW has a lot of stupid people. It's not exactly exclusive to DKs.
atleast they not alowed to trispec anymore^^
even i get sad every time I see fury warrior with titangrip and Singelminded fury in same spec=/
Then you get sad a lot as thats A)an accepted spec for arena B)makes sense while leveling

@qwertydood
So let's assume you found yourself in a dungeon with a well geared tank. Would you just assume the guy is an idiot/noob as well? If you do, I have a nice suggestion I picked up from my Guild's rules.
Don't. Use. The. Dungeon Finder.
If you don't like the randomness, don't bother.
sarcasm
I bet you are among the stupid elitists who leave the group because of 1 wipe, or because someone didn't know tactics. The guy who always seem to have a vocabulary consisting of nothing but words like "noob, omg, lol", ect.
/sarcasm
Generalize all you want. Just realize that, what you are saying completely contradicts your actions. If you hate stupidity, don't use the dungeon finder to find a group. If you don't have any friends, nor a guild, find a guild. If you can't be bothered with that, don't do dungeons at all. Free us from your annoying attitude, because no one will appreciate it in a random group.

I play a death knight tank (yes I know how to gear and spec) but unfortunately there are those who don't. Can't tell you how many Death knights I've seen trying to tank in unholy/frost especially through outland. At that point it doesn't even matter as the dungeons themselves are facerolls but as they progress, they've gained the mentality that they are soooooo awesome, cuz they could faceroll bc dungeons with 3-4/5 people using 5+ boas. This helps to lead to this stereotype which plagues death knights. However, are bad players limited to death knights? NO! One time while tanking a heroic I asked the hunter to trap the right add, so he runs in (with aspect of the pack on no less) and drops a trap. We manage to get through the pull and I ask him why the heck he didnt launch the trap. He responds Hunters can throw traps? LOLOL I'M BM I CANT DO THAT.

All i know is that i miss my corpse explosion tanking :((

Tanking or DPS, corpse explosion was just dang fun.
There is something disturbingly gratifying in blowing up a zombie near things and hearing that noise and then splatter. Even if I don't like horror and splat films, that was fun.

Ahh, I miss CE. I remember doing 97k DPS with it in Naxx 25 one day. We had someone fall through the floor in Spider wing. When they popped up on the other side of the wall, they pulled a !@#$load of trash around the corner. Trash rushed our group, I CEd, summoned, CEd, etc.
I miss CE. ;(

Speaking of which (Even if this derails the thread somewhat), what exactly do Unholy have for decent AoE nowadays? I am going back to my DK, and I am stuck between frost and unholy, but for AoE, I just can't find out how unholys are supposed to do AoE damage now.
Blood gets additional damage to BB, and even without that, HS deals insane AoE damage, even if only to 3 targets.
Frost has HB for massive AoE, even with the recent nerfs.
All 3 have full access to DnD, including the talent. So does unholy's AoE consist of mass DoT'ing + BB and DnD? I still can't figure out why they went as far as to remove CE... It was well used, and awesome/interesting.
This is one of the things that makes me wonder why spells like Lightwell, that most simple-minded dps's just ignore even if it is placed right on top of them, is still in the game. Nothing is more aggravating than hearing QQs about people not getting heals, when an obvious lightwell was placed right next to them. And I haven't even tried a high level priest yet.

DnD is much more powerful for unholy, because of Morbidity and Dreadblade, unholy diseases deal much more damage (and an extra 100% in AOE encounters), transformed ghoul cleaves. While it doesn't have the burst AOE that made Frost so OP at the start of Cata, it can match or beat any Frost spec depending on the number of mobs and length of fight.

Ahh, forgot Dreadblade. But still, morbidity is available to all specs, so DnD will "only" be about 30-40 % stronger than Frost and Blood. Not much, considering the strong options both Blood and Frost have for additional AoE dps.
But our main "aoe" ability comes from DoT's I take it? heh, sounds interesting.

No, main AoE damage is Ghoul Cleave + DnD + Blood Boil. That stuff hits crazy hard.

Not really, I've yet to see a very viable PvE spec that uses morbidity for Frost. And Blood is tank.

eather.the spec on elitistjerks is wrong and its actually kinda bad.or dks got nerfed, cuz ever since i spec'd it,it seems like my dps has gone down
Unlikely. You're probably just so used to your old playstyle and rotation that the new one isn't coming easy for you. Give it an hour or so on the training dummy and I imagine that things will improve ^^

If you are tanking you will be loved. Great survivability with this class and make life easy on heals. A unstressed healer can heal dps. Blood is probably the easiest tanking class also. its just two buttons.

This is so glaringly wrong I giggled.

I like to compare Blood to an Assassination Rogue. It appears to be two buttons at first, but if you look at a properly done priority you see things are much more complex. Balancing diseases, death strikes, Blade Barrier, etc. makes things about as far from two-buttons as possible, not including rune tap and actual cooldowns. I find it much less difficult to tank on say, a Warrior.

I like to compare it to playing an instrument, commonly something like a xylophone, piano or such.
