Dear Tanks, You Suck.

If all tanks are so terrible roll a tank and quit QQing.
QFT
You can't complain unless you want to do better.
I complain when my plumber does a %^&* job. That doesn't mean I have to start plumbing to defend my complaining. Every person has a contribution to make, and if one person isn't pulling their weight in that regard, that's their fault.
Hire a new plumber, don't run to a plumber message board and start threads like "all plumbers suck!".

This was my experience just less than an hour ago.
- I queue for a random heroic as a healer. It's Blackrock Caverns, no biggie... easy and fun.
- Our first tank sees that it's BRC and promptly leaves the group.
- Our second tank sticks around to kill Rom'ogg. The shield doesn't drop. He promptly leaves the group.
- Our third tank sees that we're in progress and promptly leaves the group.
- Our fourth tank is barely at a 329 gear level in a lot of greens. We wipe soon after he joins because he grabs two groups of trash. He promptly leaves the group.
- Our fifth tank does his best impersonation of our third tank. He promptly leaves the group.
- I promptly leave the group out of frustration.
The reality.
-First tank looks at the group composition and promptly leaves.
-Second tank sticks around to kill Rom'ogg. The shield doesn't drop and it's not worth his time to stick around and deal with the mouth breathing dps, he leaves.
-Third tank is smart and leaves
-Fourth tank is geared just fine, you and the rest of the droolers are running around pretending you're in a battle ground and face pull which causes a wipe; tank leaves.
-Fifth tank joins, you all are still borderline retarded and he promptly and wisely leaves.
You in your infinite ignorance rush to the nearest forum to complain.
Assumptions are cool. You are probably equally as ignorant. It can honestly be a great variety of circumstances.

If I get 5 plumbers in a row that suck, that's exactly what I'd go and do. Obviously there is something wrong with the science of plumbing if bad plumbers are all I'm getting.

All i'm saying is, just because you got 5 "Bad" plumbers doesn't mean all plumbers suck, and if you don't want a bad plumber fire yours and either find a better one, or learn to plumb yourself, then you wont be able to complain about how bad of a job you're doing.

I'm just replying to your statement that you can't complain unless you do it yourself, which is a false statement.

Plumbers are just people that wanted to do an electrical epprenticeship but were too thick for wires so they had to do pipes :)

There has to be another problem... whenever i'm dps, the runs suck. Either the tank or healer is horrible and bad. If I'm either the tank or healer, it's suddenly far easier and the run is a smooth as ever.
That's hardly universal, I was in a group healing a few days ago, the tank would go from 70% to dead in less time than it would take me to case Holy Light on my pallly, and
I
was the one who got kicked for sucking.

This message has been brought to you by the word "Promptly".
Every time I do that fight I have this image in my head of every tank in Org trying to fly from the bank to the AH, stopping all of the sudden, and yelling to themselves OH GOD I FORGOT HOW TO MOVE AGAI- oh no wait that's right the up arrow key.
This is perhaps the best thing I will read all day.
Since when did words start bringing messages?

Its not fair to form an opinion about a group of people based on a few people that you have a bad experience with. But thanks to those peoples opinions and constant disrespect, i have decided not to tank anymore, and not even pve anymore. I cant always run with a my guild, and pugs were painful. So in fact tanks dont just suck... People suck!

/Cookie. One of the best statements I've seen in a while.

The problems may not be the plumber. It could be a difficult job, very bad piping, poor house construction, the list goes on.
But of course, it takes a non-plumber to complain.

That doesn't change the fact that the job is not being done correctly by the people meant to do it. If plumbing is too difficult for you, don't become a plumber! It obviously wasn't too hard for Mario.

That is just absurd! How on earth can anybody in any vocation know that they won't encounter difficulty in the future? What do you do for a job HSR? Do you do it perfectly? Do you arrive and leave not a minute early, not a minute late? Are all your tasks done on-time? Do you hit, and even exceed your KPI's? Are all your e-mails attended to? You would certainly have come across a time when you were out of your depth and/or didn't know what to do and/or didn't know how to deal with a situation. Then, by your logic, you should quit and go flip burgers. But sadly, you'll encounter the same issues anywhere.

You danced a complete jig around every point I've made. So please don't use the word logic like it means anything to you.
Here is the argument I'm replying to:
"You cannot complain the state of tanks unless you tank yourself."
So, unless you have something relevant to that argument that you'd like to defend, I so no reason to reply to your specific points.

But I was responding to a specific point of yours, which I quoted. I guess I'll talk to myself if I want some healthy discussion.

Making up exaggerations that aren't even relevant, let alone logical consequents, is not what I call healthy discussion.

Yesterday, in a pug the tank said at the very outset, "I don't know how to tank".
Me: "you're a Paladin. An Avenger's Shield here, a Consecrate now and again, spam HoW... how hard can it be?"
Tank: "I'm Ret"
Me: /facepalm
That said and done, we progressed without any difficulty. The tank died once, but then the mob is nearly dead so it was swiftly neutralized. In the middle of the instance...
Tank: "wow, no complains?"
Me: "what do you want me to complain about?"
Tank: "my tanking"
Me: "I'll complain
after
you screw up, not before"
We finished the dungeon easily, and I got the dungeon quest gun (yay!).
Moral of this long, drawn-out rambling is,
there are no bad tanks, only bad players
. Fin.

BRC is a bad place to pug. The instance isn't terribly difficult, but the second boss is a stupid check. It's not worth my time to wait and see if the DPS can manage to move in and out of a beam every 20 seconds. In most of the other heroic encounters, I (the tank) am the one responsible for not being stupid. Since I am of above average intelligence and a competent gamer, this poses no problem. On other bosses, I control most aspects of the fight and as long as people don't spend too much time in the bad stuff, things work out fine.
Tbh, I would have left a group if I was placed in BRC as well.
