I certainly agree that a fear that makes the target stand shivering in place (tasty image if nothing else ^^) is better than one that makes them run uncontrollable. But seriously, locks are punching bags. Would you really want to fear that pally and then discover you have a 5 sec CD on your next fear while his warrior buddy now is beating you senseless and your portal isn't up and what not? Arena seems way too often to require lining up fears for that glyph to be a good one. Thats my impression at least.

I wouldn't use it for arenas... I assumed he was talking about Duels/BGs, seeing as there are no rated arenas until Dec 14th =|

With the most recent update to ForteXorcist, Hand of Gul'dan does show up on my cooldowns and is considered a spell.

I don't recall blizzard saying anything official about it, but a few patches ago I believe that Soul Stones used to function the same way they do currently. My guess is blizzard doesn't want people relying on Soulstones (and battle rez, which also got knocked back to 30 minutes) in order to clear content. The recent classes changes have made a lot of raiding content incredibly easier.

it was talked about in beta that soulstones would become usable on dead party/raid members to res then in combat (just like a druid's rebirth).
having a quick look at some tooltips and comments i can't see any confirmation if that is now the case or not but it would explain the cooldown times.
anyone tried this in combat to confirm it?

...really? I shall test this out extensively in my 10 man tonight. Just one more week til we get the 10 man drakes ^_^

just did a quick and dirty test and it can't be used posthumously to res a dead ally.
i guess it is just a dodgy cooldown. looks like they just want people to use them more pro-actively before encounters they know might cause issues instead of a constant buff. this is a shame because i, personally, will almost certainly always forget until it's too late.

returning to a previous query of mine: anyone know if death's embrace has been redesigned to work retroactively on dots already on the target? somewhere, i dont remember where, i heard the rumor, but searches dont really shed any light on the subject.

all DoTs now recheck for percentage buffs (along with changes to stats like crit, haste, mastery) when refreshed. i haven't tested DE specifically but don't see any reason for that ability being the odd one out.

well, I meant on dots that
arent
refreshed after the moment the target hits 25 % (this is mostly a pvp issue). but i take it to be unlikely then.

ah i see. hadn't thought about it from that PoV.
so, yes, as far as i know the recheck is done on refresh and not on a per-tick basis. (i am moving away from details that i can personally verify here, though i'm fairly certain they're correct)

/cry ... after their nerfing DS i figure this change would not be too much to ask.

well i think it would require a fairly major change to the way things work in the background but remember that this goes both ways. if you pop some trinkets/cooldowns and refresh DoTs before they drop then you're getting that benefit for longer than you would otherwise.

Quick question, is there a simcraft version viable for 4.0.1? I have seen posts on data on elitist jerks, but cannot find it myself for use on my gear scale. I currently have ver. 3.3.5.
Thanks

last I heard there was not a new simcraft version out. Best bet is to check their website for yourself. I believe the link is in the simcraft thread on this forum. or maybe just google them if it's not.

Honestly, whoever makes simcraft should get a medal. For a free tool it is epic, and the amount of work that must go into it just boggle's my mind.
