Open with Frostfire. But I think Fireball / Scorch (glyphed appropriately) is higher DPS.

Just hit 80 in my mage. I doubt I'm going to do anything on him till Cataclysm. Now I think I'll untwink my 70 priest and level her.

I guess Hot Streak is ridiculously forgiving of how long between the two crits is allowed. I just logged on, my first Fireball cast was a crit, and I got a Hot Streak proc. I haven't played in at least 12 hours.

So I tried leveling a mage. I got to about 24 before I took a break for awhile.
The sad thing is, that is the farthest I've gotten any alt besides my DK.

Wow, because mages suck bad before lvl 30. I'm surprised you got past lvl 10.

Sadly I've leveled every class in the game now to max level (pally being my main) but I have to admit I think the most fun and quickest was my mage. Leveled mostly as frost but must say I love fire now :D

Hooray also for Exploding Sheep!
I only powerleveled engineering to catch up while in Outlands, but I kept a stack around for fun.
I'm pretty sure, if there's a huge enough level difference, self-destruct style effects can be parried somehow. I'd just see Pet Parry! on MSBT and then no more sheep. Kind of made my head hurt to think of how that would even work.

Just don't read it then - it's that simple. There are plenty of "wat frost emblem gear should I get?" threads to spend your time on. Besides, we're at the bitter end of an expansion, and useful discussion of paladin issues has long since ended. Aside from being a database, wowhead is also a community.
I realize you're excited about your new premium membership, but don't let it go to your head. Instead, I recommend you roll an engineering fire mage and see what all the fuss is about! :)

I am extremely disappointed in the moderators at this moment in time.
Gnub moved it to the mage forums and had it moved back after we asked.
Let's even set aside for the moment that this board is close to inactive, and consider how this thread is detrimental to helping people who ask serious questions, or having a serious discussion of some mechanic of the class. Oh wait it doesn't.
