Today while working on Loremaster I found
Manual: Strong Anti-Venom
in a chest in Ashenvale. This is the first time I have ever seen or heard of this item in almost 3 years of playing.
This got me wondering what else there is floating around out there in loot-tables, infrequently found and almost forgotten about.
What is the most rarely seen item you have looted (excluding mounts)?

Rarer than Ashes of Al'ar by many orders of magnitude.
yes, especially when you ignore the fact that its a lowbie world drop and you can only try for ashes once a week

. your terrible luck =/= everyone
I would have answered the same whether or not Funden had posted - Ashes isn't all that rare these days, and there's a lot of old world raid drops with 1% drop rates on a one-week reset - but of course you're free to believe whatever you like.
I was very pleased when I obtained it
. because every post you make isn't a desperate grab for attention, and a random green pattern is much more impressive than you SHINY EPIC MOUNT

That's not the issue. except it is, your only support was a link to your experience in farming something
anecdotal evidence is anecdotal
Ashes are simply more commonly farmed
and the desirability of an item has nothing to do with its rarity
whereas the BS plan is really out-of-the-way and obscure and very few players are aware it or anything like it - a green-quality BoP world drop BS recipe - even exists likewise, knowledge of an item has nothing to do with its rarity
much less have looted it and possess the recipe.

A lot of items have a 1-2% drop rate off a raid boss with a one-week reset, including basically every raid drop mount. i wasn't talking about the percents
