Same deal with \ tags instead of \. Just stick it inside a centre aligned \.
Personally I would suggest you make the image a little smaller as well as centring it but that's up to you (you do that by adding a "width=
xxx
" to the image tag).

I can't figure out how to make currency show up properly and how to make pictures show up as thumbnails...Can anyone help?
When I do, currency it comes out like this:
comes out like (Currency #392)
0
comes out (Currency #392) x50
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

If you get the link to appear in (round brackets) like that then that means it's worked. When you save/publish your guide the site fills those in properly with the icons and links. This is also true of normal item links on the forum so when I put in \
Fast Test 1H Sword
I see the link as you describe it in the preview and it becomes a proper link when I click submit.
Hope that makes sense. Basically, you're doing it right, just click save/submit and it'll work.

Well, don't I feel stupid now! Thankyou very much!
I have another question though: Other than using the screenshots already on Wowhead, how can I make pictures show up as thumbnails on my guide?
Post by

Ah, don't worry about it. You only know something like that once you know it ^_^
How about something like:
Which gives:
Essentially this is just putting the \ inside \ tags (that link to the same image) and giving it a smaller size.
When using screenshots there are thumbnail versions already so for those you can use "size=thumb". With your own uploaded images you either need to make your own small images and upload those also or resize the larger images to make them work as thumbnails on the page.

Atm trying to write a complete guide for entire DS (ofc pending approval of my final guide for DW), and I really wanna soup this up to the level of some of the other guides here (just mentioning Dragonwrath and this one as very top-end stuff). I've run into some snags though, where I'd like some formatting help:
Maps:
I "stole" the map code you provided in the guide-feedback thread, but when I change the zone to 5892 (DS), I just get the "ground level", where as the map shown for DS have multiple levels. Is there any kind of code to add layers to the map? I'd really love to have the entire DS-map available, and still be able to put my own pins in, and not use the in-place ones - as I'd want them to be screenshots of the bosses as well as hyperlinks to appropiate guide-sections. Any and all help would be most welcome here.
Tab-specific hyperlinks
General idea I have is to use \ - one for each boss. However, when I make a \ pointing to an \ on e.g. tab 7, the hyperlink doesn't switch the tab to that sub-tab. Is there a specific code needed, or can it not be done?
Hyperlinks in maps
Very apropos, I'm gonna need that intra-tab hyperlink starting from a pin in the map. Is that just a \Ultraxion\\ \ (other stuff /ended as well ofc)? Or does the pin go inside the url perhaps
Tabs background
As I already have tabs in some of my guides, these will wind up as tabs within the main boss tab, which means that the background color of the boss tab prevents the edges of the boss specific tab from being shown. Is there a code to change the border- and/or background color of a \?
Color
I know this has already been brought up before, that there is a "color-tool" in place. However, I use IE and am not able to switch for many reasons, and I'm unable to see that color-tool. Would it be possible for you to provide at least some of the base colors and the code for using it? (by base I mean those pertinent to the game (like the 6 gem colors)
Screenshots
There is already a huge amount of great screenshots of bosses here in wowhead. I am assuming I can use those, but do the uploader need to be credited? (I'm assuming yes btw). And would it be enough to credit them in the end of the guide, or does the credit need to be shown along with the shot itself?
Wow - that was a lot of text. Hope you can help. Keep up the good work :)

Maps!
Neutronimity made
this post
in which he explains some of the intricacies of maps. Hope that helps.
Tab Anchors
I've found this a bit frustrating too. Tabs actually create anchors (as do \ and \ tags) when you create them, using the tab title, so you don't really need to make your own anchors. However using them to navigate to a point in a page once it's open hasn't worked for me either though it does work if you're navigating to the page from elsewhere.
For example if I link to a tab in one of my guides:
#specstabs-destruction
You'll be taken directly to the correct tab but if you're sitting looking at that and click an link to one of the other ones it won't switch (unless you refresh the page).
I don't have a good answer for this so if anyone else reading this has any ideas please do chip in!
Pin links
That would look like:
hello
Tab Backgrounds
Sadly not possible >.<
I'd love to be able to use images or even colours for backgrounds.
Colours
The only colour tool I can think of is just a drop-down list of colour options along the top of the edit box, where the buttons for bold (etc.) go. This doesn't work in IE? because it really should!
The common colours use codes with the syntax \text
The codes linked in the tool are c1 > c11, for class colours, q1-10 for quality, r1-10 for skills.
You can also use RGB hex codes preceded by a "
#
" and some basic colours just by name like \
Screenshots
Personally I think that if it's a screenshot in the database then its okay to use but it would certainly be nice of you to credit the uploader and at the end will be fine.
Good luck with the guide. Sounds like it will be fantastic!(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

You can't currently embed a talent calculator in a guide. You're not the first to wonder about this and a couple of us have mused over ways to do this. Interestingly the Torhead calculator can be embedded so it might not be out of the question but I have no idea how much they may differ in the code that builds them. I think it may be worth making a suggestion thread in the forum so that it's seen by devs/admins.
So, you can't do it directly so what are the alternatives? Image maps can't be done on BBCode but it is possible to make a table and mock up your own calculator. This takes a lot of work though and even messing around with some of the classes I can't get the icons to properly display talent points spent in the little bubble. The actual talent calculator uses image resources for the greyed-out icons that are difficult to access so you might have to make your own >.<
▼
etc. etc. - you get the idea (quote to see the code).
I know I'm not managing to help very much but maybe this is giving you some ideas. Personally in my guide I just used a screenshot of a complete calculator but I totally agree that something interactive would be wonderful.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

The way I see it, you'd have to create 2 identical guides, of which only 1 would be visible.
Then you'd have all the \ in the guide point to the "invisible" guide.
All the links in the "invisible" guide would ofc point to the "real" guide.
Problem solved (wowhead-database-size=Double)

Sorry for double posting here, but I'm running my head into a wall here - soon getting to the point where I wanna crack my head through my keyboard.
I want to make 3 maps fit across a page's width (without causing the page to become bigger than normal).
I've been trying a thousand different combinations, but just can't seem to get it done - which I believe is mainly because \ doesn't accept a "width" and/or "size" modifier.
Anyways, here is my code:
\
which I can get to work with text. \ still need to be resized with width=200 (% doesn't seem to work?) when I put those in, instead of maps/text. Can't really use images anyways, as you can't stick a \ in those.
I'm going crazy here. Am I doing it wrong, or is it simply impossible to do?

asakawa, is there new things that we can do for our guides? because Ashelia did a different formatting to his guide.
