If it's privately owned, then it doesn't matter what you consider it to be, it's private property.

It is more in order to solve crimes very fast and clearly, also the fear of knowing he or she would certainly get cought may prevent the person even trying to commit the murder all together.
A person who is going around committing murders is already a person taking the huge risk of going to jail and how useful would all those cameras be with ski masks on also how would you place these cameras how difficult could it be to "disable" them.
If a person is intent on committing a crime they'll find a way around the cameras

I think it is more important to protect the publics security then to respect privacy.
And if anyone asks yes I do propose using camera's in public bathrooms as many people are raped in bathrooms in restaurants and bars.
As Laihendi said earlier, if the government takes away someone's privacy, they are oppressing that person, not giving security, because part of providing security and protection is protection against oppression.

That's an assumption, based on absolutely no real-world evidence.
With that argument, we should all be packed off the concentration camps.

There is no such thing as protection that takes away privacy...

I think in some cases it is more important to provide security and throw away privacy, but there aren't many.

Yes there is. As I already said, some people are incapable of taking care of themselves. Some people need a guiding force.

There is a difference between being taken care of and having your freedom taken away.

Laihendi has real reading comprehension problems.
For the third time. Taking freedom away is not the same as giving up one's freedom.

That would be true if people were watching the camera's live but they wont be, nor will the public have access to it, the footage would only be accessed if someone reports of a rape incident and the police can quickly find the culprit.
Realy peoples privacy is not realy being affected at all by this system.
and who's to say that one person of who does have access to it isn't a pedophile?

It can be developed.

Yes it is... look at facebook. Everyone facebook stalks people. If you put up a new photo album, you can be sure that there will be people who will look at those pictures, whether the album was specifically for them or not. There will possibly even be people who aren't on your friends list looking at those pictures. If people abuse their power to invade the privacy of others with stuff as meaningless as facebook, then of course people will abuse their power to invade your privacy if they have a camera on you at all times. The police/government isn't made of perfect people, they will do bad things when given the right opportunity.

Putting cameras in every public location isn't people willingly giving up freedom.

I never said it was. Please read before replying.

Okay, Laihendi can't really tell what you're arguing with him about then. People who willingly give up their freedom are being willingly oppressed... what Laihendi said before still holds up.
