that's why i don't like talking about my religion online, I prefer to keep it and discuss at my church &*!@#$ bags like him run out and expect you to prove everything you say, religion is what you're taught and believe and keep strongly about
Amen.
Talking to people at my church is refreshing. Nobody is as kind to me as they are. However, I like to talk to those that don't agree with me to hear other people's viewpoints. I am actually more comfortable in randomness. However, Church really is a reprieve for me... a rest period.

This, 90%, but only because I don't have a church ;P. You don't learn without being introduced to new viewpoints. That's why I'll argue on both sides of the fence, as and when it's warranted to generate a discussion.
@ NfldPunx, I'll get back to you soon, just need to head out for a while.

Yes
Theoretically, all of this, If we could use a wormhole to travel a sufficient distance from earth to observe it before it's creation, and we were able to observe it before it's creation, meaning that there was light before the earth, would you modify that statement?

Yes. If the opposite were true, would you believe me?

Do you mean would I believe that earth is older than light, or believe in God?
I would definitely take into serious consideration whether or not the earth was older than light, not immediate acceptance simply because of other evidence point in the opposite direction, and could very well arrive at that conclusion.
Would that be proof enough to me that the universe has a sentient creator? No, it would not.

Nope. Not now, anyways.

If god can take away free will, then do we really have it? We may be free to do 10,000 vile acts, but in the end if he does not want you to do something then it won't happen.God is described as omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent.
But he wants you to have free will and to act in accordance with your free will. Which may sound a bit contradictory if you're nitpicking, but in all respects, means that you simply have unbridled free will.
So he knows every move I will make in advance, he can control everything I do (and for some he does, well religion does I guess) and he is everywhere at all times, with these three traits I cannot for the life of me see how anyone who believes in god/s can say we have true free will. If something has the power to stop me from doing something then (I guess this is where opnions clash) I do not have free will.
He doesn't control what you do. You can choose to rebel against him if you want, and he can't control you to do otherwise. The idea of 'control' is iffy - environmental factors may lead you to take certain actions, but God doesn't actually 'control' any of those factors. Him knowing what you will do is, in essence, the equivalent of you predicting what your sims will do, not requiring any control over them.
Would I save them, I more then likely would.. but I'm a bit twisted when it comes to things like that...
But that still does not answer my question, how could a ever-forgiving god "not want" someone. I guess what I'm truly getting at is how could a god described in the way he is condone a place such as hell.. it just doesn't flow with the logic behind god.
I can forgive a criminal for raping or murdering, I can forgive a thief for stealing from me. It doesn't mean that I want them to be around and continue doing so, especially when they haven't repented and acknowledged that they've done something wrong.

But haven't they? Or did they just not do it to Jesus, God, or whomever?
Plus, just because I don't want to reward you for doing bad things doesn't mean I want you to suffer either.

Then please, by all means, don't.
But don't enter a religion discussion thread and attack me for discussing religion.
Why not? All they are saying is whether they believe in it or not, they don't say "I believe you are wrong get over it."
I admit I'm arrogant, it's one of my fatal flaws.
Arrogance is justified, but is not a justification unto itself
Not exactly relevant but I thought I'd say it.
Anyways, I'm sorry about a rather insulting post, I just had to get this out there. I am arrogant as well, I believe I am more intelligent, good looking, and possessing more common sense than most people I know, but I work to keep that down. Please, try the same.

Because the OP has specific questions he wants answered, showing that it's a discussion, if not a debate. He stated his opinion, without listing it as his opinion, in a discussion forum, so I assumed it could be discussed. I have no problem with him not wanting to discuss it, but then asking about my beliefs and making a judgment whether or not he would discuss them with me based upon that is what I consider to be bigotry. Then he calls me a d-bag for it. So essentially, yes, I believe he was saying "I believe you are wrong get over it."

I completely agree. However, even if I conveyed it arrogantly, that was not my justification for saying it.
On a side note, Funden, do you believe that the earth is older than light?

Eh... whatever. I was looking at the past posts and I guess I kinda agree.

Hmm... tough question.
Kind of (well yes I suppose)... I believe that the big bang happened, and that that matter later was made into the earth. So yes there was light before the Earth, in form of the nebulae and forming stars and whatnot.
Can someone do an act so vile that no matter how much they repent (pray it isn't on Cool down..heh) They are going to hell?
Yes. Worshiping the devil and becoming a Son of Perdition. (Note:Insert I believe in all my posts in religion =P )

So you're saying that the very first passage of the entire bible is untrue?

Hm? What passages? And by Bible do you mean old/new or just one testament?
(Oh and showering. I might not respond tonight)

Genesis: 1 א בְּרֵאשִׁית, בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים, אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם, וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ. - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis: 3 ג וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים, יְהִי אוֹר; וַיְהִי-אוֹר. - And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light.
Light is two stanzas behind earth.

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
You forgot the second verse. Basically right there it is saying the Earth existed in name but not form. God was kinda hovering over it and decided to make it (First by adding Light). The Earth didn't exist until the final phase. Only after it was completely finished did the Earth exist.
