Go on PTR
Get the Battered hilt from your glyph vendor
Then do the "epic" quest chain on PTR
I'm extremely curious to read elsinne's (OP) and LordBalrog's respond to this.
Why not just go on the PTR and do everything while we're at it? Right? I can gear up in full T10.5, look all shiny and go smack around anything I want. This logic is so fail I don't even know why I'm responding to it.
You said you just wanted to see the quest.....

see the questline
. What does it matter if you see it on the PTR or Live? What difference does it make? It's the same questline. If there's no ulterior motive, you should be happy seeing it on the PTR.

Lore-wise, Quel'Delar is a unique weapon of legend. It is not something that is to be spread around like so much marmalade. But because there is a really nice quest line associated with it, you seem to think you deserve the hilt to start the quest line?
Would you like to be given Reply Code: Alpha, which is only available to some fairly dedicated raiders, and the Scarab Lord title and quest line which only one person per server was able to do? What about the Shadowmourne quest line, you want to see that one too?
Blizzard could've made Quel'Delar a legendary weapon, with only a single drop per server. They didn't, and because they did not, you have the opportunity to do it. You choose to ignore two opportunities to do the quest line, and rail against Blizzard for making a unique sword's quest line (and sword itself) non-unique.
You're like a man who goes hungry at a restaurant because you refuse to move food from the serving dishes to your own bowl.

Heh, sorry we revealed that you truly were after the item for the weapon, and you wanted it handed to you on a silver platter instead of actually working for it. We gave you 3 viable options, if you want more, contact Blizzard, and put down exactly what you did here to let them know you are entitled to the Hilt over everyone else.

I stopped responding with any substance as soon as it became clear to me that the people who kept coming back for more: you, Timanous, pezz, et. al., aren't here for an honest debate. Your posts make it clear that you have not actually read most of what I posted. You willfully choose to troll instead of trying to understand what I am saying.
I do not have the time or inclination to continue this pointless exercise. We disagree on this matter, that much is clear. Those who were receptive to my point of view have read it, and those who are not have made themselves plain.

I feel your pain OP.
I, too, also suffered the grind of the Battered Hilt.
However, I had a powerful advantage called multiple 80s. Recently, I was victorious and won a Battered Hilt.
Prior to that I spent about NINE HOURS in a single day, using my Feral druid (which I geared out on that same day by crafting many epics) to solo Heroic Forge of Souls trash.
Persistence is a powerful thing. I could've just caved and bought it. And hell, I did buy one, but resold it for nearly 3k of profit.
Just keep going. Do your dailies, run the 3 heroics every day or just casually random dungeon over several 80s if you have em.
You will get it. Trust me.
