Alright, so I can understand if Blizzard wants to increase the honor gained through HK's. That's all well and good. I can also understand the BG mark changes. And the WG quest honor 50% reduction. Even the random battleground option. But why are they changing the experience gained through battlegrounds?
I, myself, wouldn't like to level through PvP. However, I know quite a few people who'd like to, and have. I do occasionally do some BG's on the chars I level, sometimes extensively. I know that the experience gained through almost all battlegrounds is rather low, AV now even being only slightly ahead of questing. I know a lot of players got tired of questing, and cherish the thought of leveling through PvP. So why would Blizzard FURTHER reduce the experience gained through BG's?

Hmm... I suppose that makes sense. But, if that were the case, what's the point in even giving the option of experience in battlegrounds?

Pretty much because of twinks. In order to prevent the twinking situation happening again, experience had to be added to battlegrounds.

What Garblog said. They're doubling the honor rate, and halving the XP per honor point. The net effect is that you will get twice the honor as you do now, but you won't get twice the XP as you do now.

you have no idea whats going on in this thread, do you?
OT: its because blizzard
wants
people to quest while leveling, hence the emphasis on it

It seems quite a few people don't get that the experience gain isn't a nerf, in fact it's staying the same. The patch notes have to be taken in context, like a few mentioned before, the "nerf" isn't a nerf, just a balance to the increased honor gains. If you gained 500 honor let's say you got 1000 xp -- now after the patch instead of gaining just 500 honor, you'd double that to gain 1000 honor; but instead of ALSO gaining 2000 xp, you're only getting the same xp as you do now (1000).
Context!

I can understand that, but I know people want the option. :/

Yeah, there was a Blue post "recap" on wow.com the other day that directly addressed this -- apparently Honor Kills (and Honor) is actually how everything is determined, included completing objectives to experience gains.
From the explanation it was made clear that experience gain is staying the same, while honor gain is doubling :D

Well I knew about objectives, but not experience gains...
Waiting for confirmation. =P

Context!Confirmed. They just want to increase the honor, but since the xp is calculated based on honor, they need to decrease the ratio to keep it equal. n*2/2=n.
