That is primarily a buff for balance druids, which are in extremely sore need of work in PvP.
It's a buff for the balance druids, but it's certainly not excluded to just them, which is why it will be painful. Resto druids can still cast Nature's Grasp in tree form, and while yes, if you hit them three times it will fully diminish Roots, it's also three separate roots (7.5 seconds with one snare break, 2.5 seconds with two), and most melee have far fewer breaks. Even at 12 yards kiting, if you've blown all your "catch up" cooldowns, kiting is kiting.
At least I'll enjoy abusing this on my own tree form druid. Since I'm still 70 on him, I'm curious to know if roots can affect multiple targets at the same time. Neither wowhead, the wiki, nor the tooltip would indicate that it is target restricted. Peeling 3 rogues away at once? Beautiful!

For Resto druids:
It doesn't really have any large effect in 2s, except that you will actually root more than just a pet if you have it and a dps on you. (or a double melee dps team that doesn't have a dispell (rogue/warr/dk? lol)
In 3s, it's primarilly a buff against 2 melee teams, (TSG, etc.), which won't matter much if they have a pally/priest/grounding totem.
In 5s, it may keep a resto druid alive, but our main problems are that we aren't primary healers, we're assists+cyclones, and we don't usually get focused in 5s.
I don't imagine it'll really be a humongous buff for Restos, but for Balance, they certainly could use some +survivability, which this is.

I respectfully disagree with this assessment - primarily because warlock comps tend to be extremely dangerous to resto in 2s. I run rogue/resto- I'm the rogue (but I also have a resto druid and play regularly with several others). The Felhunter is almost always a priority switch and we try to find the opportunity to burst him down as soon as possible in the game, not because of the silence, but because of Shadow Bite.
Keeping the Felhunter out of melee range (even if "only" for a diminished 17.5 seconds) long enough to find an opening and down the pet can be crucial, especially if the warlock is running an extremely powerful comp like lock/shaman, which already provides an immense amount of pressure on resto teams.
Then throw in the added benefit of totally screwing warriors without having to cast, or even look at them, this is definitely going to be an A+++ improvement for druids, even for the specs that don't need it.
