Rule of thumb: Don't join a dungeon that is already into the dungeon if you're a tank or healer
Now obviously in this case you couldn't have known, because they hadn't downed a boss yet, but generally you'll want to stay away from them.

Yep, both my Tank and Healer automatically refuse any Dungeon in Progress. MOST times the Healer / Tank left because one of the other four people is making the dungeon ridiculously more difficult than needed through sheer ineptitude to stupidity.
On that note, if I'm just DPSing, I'll give it a go. If the group is still horrible at the 15min point, I leave. DPS grows on trees, right?

The other day I did a random on my mage, and we got OK. As soon as I port in, I see the healer berating the tank's gear, low HP, etc. The healer absolutely refused to heal the tank and instead ported out and did other stuff. He didn't leave group, just ported out. Said he would rather take the dungeon cooldown than the Deserter. Talking about a selfish S.O.B.
Eventually a dps, then the tank, then the healer dropped. Group filled before timer ran out (I was herbing at this time) and we one shotted the instance.

I did something like that once when I was in a partial guild run through some randoms. We got a Rethole who thought with 5.5k GS he could tank just fine with a 2h. I just let him die when he kept pulling ahead of the newish tank who was also my guildie.
I let him lay there a minute and asked him if he was ready to stop being an #$%^&*!. After about two minutes, clearly weighing whether he wanted to suck a 15 minute deserter or play along like a regular person he conceded to our terms.
As for your healer being a baseless d*ck hole, I can only chalk it up to human nature and our sometimes boundless desire to control the wills of others in whatever pointless way presents itself.

You can put a report in on that character and they will be warned by blizzard that if they don't want to heal the tank don't que as a healer ever.

I haven't had too many really bad experiences with LFD (touch wood). Yesterday, though, my luck ran out and I picked a doozy...
On my resto shammy, I just want to get in and get done, like everyone else. I get OK, so that's cool. So long as the tank's not a complete $%^&*! my totems and earth shield can carry the healing after the first boss. Unfortunately, the tank is a complete *!@#$% :(
It's a DK tank (I've had good experiences with DK tanks overall...DK dps not so much), warlock, retlol and warrior.
1) Tank doesn't bother to wait for me to zone in before he's pulling - I'm used to this, it happens in most runs I do.
2) Tank dodges those first two wandering spiders that pat across the bottom of the stairs.
3) Why does no one understand the spell-flingers are a complete nightmare? 80% of max health is not irrelevent just because you have 45K health. These mobs are the
only
mobs I care about as far as kill order/interrupts go.
4) D*ckhead couldn't tank anyway. First pack I got aggro from the spell-flinger and something else and basically got two-shotted.
5) Retlol cba to res me (although he ressed the warlock), and I watch as the group carries on. Completely oblivious to the fact the healer is dead.
6) /sigh. Corpse run, have to wait for the original pat we dodged to go past me before I could catch up. When I did, the lock is dead again and the tank is still pulling.
7) They'd cleared everything up to the first boss before I caught up and ressed the lock.
Standing in front of the boss we have a discussion about how I'm 'slacking' and everything is my fault. I drop group. I'll eat the debuff and find another group, thanks very much.
I felt a bit bad for the warrior, as he was defending me in our little discussion. But yeah...
In conclusion, I honestly don't have a clue what causes people to behave in this way. The attitude "it's only a heroic" is doing some very bad things to people, I feel.
If you can't solo it, get your head out of your ass and do your job properly. If you can solo it, get the hell out of my LFD queue.
