The way Armor mitigates damage is not changing, but the Armor stat has been rebalanced to mirror changes to the armor curve in Cataclysm. As a result, bonus Armor will go down slightly overall. We are also changing the mitigation difference among armor types so that plate doesn't offer so much more protection than mail, leather, and cloth. there are talents that will make up the D-rating so that the actual tank classes won't be crit by bosses. If your currently a dps, go tank a heroic boss and watch as it eats your face with 15-20k crits, then do the same for a raid boss and watch the same thing only doubled.

Tanks Are Not Being Removed from the Game for f-sake; jesu christo, there are talents that will make up the D-rating so that the actual tank classes won't be crit by bosses.
