This is my system config, what would be the best settings for WoW with less lag and optimal performance for quality?
Core 2 Quad Q6700 (K) 2.66 GHz
1066 MHz front side bus
Socket 775
Intel G33 Express
4 GB PC2-6400 MB/sec
GeForce 8600GT
512 MB GDDR2 memory
Thanks all in advance.

I would suggest starting with your monitors resolution and turn all video effects down. From there, turn up things that would be important to you like view distance or text quality. Keep adjusting the settings until you find a compromise between image quality and performance.
You could also just try using the Video Quality slider from low to something in the middle (if they allow that) and see how that affects your performance.
Shadow quality can be a huge performance killer so keep that always on the lowest setting.
If you can overclock the CPU or upgrade the GPU you'd gain performance that way as well.
