My rotation as of now is: FireShock-LavaBurst-ChainLightning-Lightningbolt, Im confused as to what spell i should use elemental mastery on, because as of right now my roatation usually lands its CD on lightning bolt (and i usually try to use it asap) i have the 2 piece t10 bonus.. Also on a completely different note i was wondering which totems should be used in which circumstances. As if right now i use stoneskin, wrath, mana and air (PVE only). For some reason that i'm unaware of someone said I shouldn't use the mana totem. Any1 care to shed some light on this, or have further suggestions.
-thanks

For your first question: I
think
(if you're asking about which spell to make insta-cast) that you want it on Lightning Bolt, since that's your longest-cast spell and therefore you're saving the most time with EM. I'm not a MS Ele Shaman, though, so you might want to get a confirm/deny on that from a more experienced player.
As far as why you would be told not to use Mana Spring, there are many reasons. The most likely is that, since you have the unimproved version, you either had a Paladin or other Shaman in the group/raid who was doing BoW/Mana Spring and your totem would just be redundant, so it's better for you to go with Healing Stream or another Water totem to get the most use out of your raid makeup. The other possibility is that someone just wanted you to use a utility totem for a specific encounter, like Fire Resistance Totem on Koralon, or Cleansing Totem on Faction Champions. Can't think of any other reasons off the top of my head...

Regarding totem: what I've noticed about Mana Spring Totem and Blessing of Wisdom is that if BoW is placed on me first, then I dropped the totem, it complete
removes
BoW from me. Even once I recall my totem, I'm still missing BoW.
This is a problem because if you recall totems (which I often do) or have to drop a different water totem due to a combat mechanic (cleansing totem most likely), you're healer isn't getting the full benefit of a constant mana regen.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I use Satrina Buff Frames and often times it wonks out showing me incorrect buff timers, etc.

Basically:
Untalented
mana spring
< untalented
bow
<
talented
mana spring
<
tallented
wisdom
91 < 92 < 109.2 < 109.4
Also:
non resto shaman < non holy paladin < resto shaman < holy paladin
Problem with resto shamans is that most of the crappy ones usually dont look at what buffs they get and put mana spring anyway. Same with crappy shamans who put untallented str of earth when there is a dk in a group.

I get the opposite problem with Paladins. They seem to always buff Kings regardless of the situation. When ToC5 was new, I'd ask for Wisdom on the Black Knight encounter (it used to be a mana intensive fight) and the paladin in the group we throw a hissy fit because he already cast Kings. He would tell me I have Mana Spring Totem, but I would argue that Cleansing Totem was more important and I would usually go OOM near the end. Now it's not a problem on that particular instance, but I still get those kinds of Paladins from time to time.
