Where / How does Wowhead know the buyout price of an item? How is it figured? I assume its some sort of average. I ask because some items dont have a buyout, tho they are BoE, and some have prices that are way off according to my server.
Example
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16714

This is tracked by the Wowhead client.
If you check
the screenshots
you can see at the bottom of the client one of the columns states "Ah prices"

Ok, so is it an average of all servers?

Probably it is. Don't rely on it :p

I only rely on it when my Auctioneer has no dataz on an item, and the vendor markup has no number.

It's an average of all servers, but we only collect data from the users who actually PURCHASE an item. This prevents the data from getting thrown off when someone posts an item at a ridiculously unrealistic price, but it also means we collect data more slowly than we would otherwise.

I hope you have the Cross-Faction AH blocked. As this could interfere with the average, especially when someone is transferring gold
