Although gaming mechanics have forced all those that play warcraft into a sense that we can't play this game without the war between horde and alliance, when it comes to roleplaying, stories and comics written outside the game, we often seen examples of characters joined with members of the opposing faction, and not per say part of either horde or alliance.
Anyone whos read the sunwell trilogy could see this example.
Cases in the warcraft of nesingwary expedition, in places like booty bay, the argent crusade, cenarion circle...
Anyway, my point being, I often wish the game had this as a mechanic, where language barriers were broken and you could play a neutral side, playing say a human who befriends tauren or orcs, or a troll befriending dwarfs.
If there was such a mechanic, like on a different type of server, one kind of the warring, another for something different, would you try that?
Given the honor aspect would not take place, but its something you'd probably forgo anyway.

So it would just be "World of Craft"?
Would the Horde and Alliance get together and make beaded wallets?

Well, I believe that such a mechanic would be an interesting thing. After all, our characters are supposed to be individuals within the Warcraft Universe, and individuals make their own way in the world.
But, something like this should be done as an option at best. If a player wants to fight for the Horde or the Alliance exclusively, it's their right to do so.
It's something that I might try out, but in reality, I don't think I would stick with it for long. As you know, I'm probably the biggest proponent of war between the factions on this forum. It would be nice to be able to play as a Tauren or Troll, etc., fighting alongside the Alliance... but that's something that loses it's charm after awhile, to me at least.

Cases in the warcraft of nesingwary expedition, in places like booty bay, the argent crusade, cenarion circle...Hm, that is only semi-true; the neutral factions make up a low number of the populations of Warcraft after all; and even in the Argent Crusade/Ebon Blade/Ashen Verdict the beings in them are only united to take down the Scourge and the Lich King, once that is over, they would revert back to their original alliances and start the war back up; heck, one of the Quests at Light's Hope has you claiming the four towers in Eastern Plaguelands for your Faction.
Anyway, my point being, I often wish the game had this as a mechanic, where language barriers were broken and you could play a neutral side, playing say a human who befriends tauren or orcs, or a troll befriending dwarfs. If Warcraft didn't have a pvp player base.. it's possible something like that would work, but because it does, they would never implement it; would cause too much trouble in battlegrounds/world PVP as you have no idea if the human running at you with the mess of Horde behind him is on your side or not(and no red name comment, some people don't play with names showing after all).
If there was such a mechanic, like on a different type of server, one kind of the warring, another for something different, would you try that?
Given the honor aspect would not take place, but its something you'd probably forgo anyway.I honestly wouldn't because you'd see the anti-Horde and Alliance people going neutral for a day just to bad mouth and insult the opposite faction.

I tend to agree with you, Adamsm. Just one point: With disguises of many kinds, the idea that you can tell your enemies by sight has been watered down quite a bit.
I must say I'd like to be able to work with the opposing faction every now and again. Especially in those instances, where it makes quite a bit of sense. And yes, I do want to get +1% to-hit just because there's a squid in the group. :)

The orb of the Sin'dori is a little harder to tell I will admit, but if you can check fast enough on the buff bars, you'll see the extra timer there.

I'm thinking of looking like a pygmy, a skeleton, a ninja or a pirate.

You know, in certain PvE situations, it would make much more sense for the factions to be working together. But still, it's not something that I would stick with for very long. I would almost certainly end up taking all of my characters down a Horde-oriented path.
