Well basically i heal without the use of GHeal entirely.
Spec:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVcbuZfvzcbMqih0ekAo:Nm00Vz
I have recently been mulling over my lack of use of GHeal, its pretty much the only healing spell i do not utilize in some way.
If i were to start using GHeal i think it would be wise to put 5 points into Divine Fury(0.5 secs off teh cast time) , and maybe 3 into Improved Healing (15% reduction in the mana cost)
However i am unsure where to take these points from, or if i need any/all of them at all.
I could likely drop my 4 in spell warding, along with my point in innerfire for filling up divine fury, but as for the 3 for lower GH cost i am unsure, i was thinking inspiration as i'm generally assigned to raid heals, but i do PoM + Renew the tanks... so it does have a relatively high utime ( i think)
Anyways, thankyou for your input as to what you think about GHeal, should it be used at all etc, and if you could provide a revised "GHeal" spec i would be most grateful.
Cheers Mag

I would just put the 4 points from Soul Warding into Divine Fury. Maxing it would only save another 0.1s without serendipity. Imp Healing is pretty lackluster unless you are assigned to heal a tank.
I generally use Gheal to help heal the tanks or on a dps/healer that is below 50% health, and on those rare occasions when I'm assigned to a tank.

Honestly, the only real time i find myself using GHeal is right after a GS+Bubble+Trinket is popped.
My spec is in my sig if ya wanted to take a look at it.

Being a holy priest, I love my gheal. Do I use it much? Negative, bc most often the tank just isn't taking that much dmg. But I view it like a nuke in the military. Do we use them? No. If we need to when the fecal matter hits the rotary air device... glad we have them in the inventory.

As a disc priest I always like throwing in a greater heal while
Borrowed Time
is up and the tank is dipping, because if it crits it'll produce a huge
Divine Aegis
shield.

I'd assume that GHeal only really becomes recommended when your Disc priest has some ridiculous amount of haste (somewhere in the 1200's) to the point where Borrowed Time would just clip your Flash Heal beyond the point of being useful.

Disc-only answer:
Only idiots like me spec Divine Fury. GHeal is generally reviled at this point; definitely not recommended no matter your haste. I dare you to go to any other forum and ask about use of Greater Heal; it's a suicide mission. I guess the disc bomb that Infections suggests (PWS > Penance > GH) isn't enough HPS to spec DF over lolWarding?
And very very few disc priests spec into Improved Healing at this point. Mana just isn't an issue unless you can't avoid Mana Voids on VDW.

Right, well thanks for the resopnses, i should have mentioned that i'm asking from the PoV of a Holy Priest, as opposed to disc, i think thats a very separate arguement.
Atm i'm not so worried, i usually do quite well unless i'm bunged down with latency, low over-heal and seeminly high effective healing as a result, i'm just trying to make sure i'm fully utilizing all of spells to the best of my ability.
Cheers
