Lovely Charms and Disc's Reflective Shield?

I posted a comment in the Lovely charm bracelet page about how if a Disc Priest's reflective shield gets the killing blow, there's no chance at a charm. I come back today to find its been purged.
Is this false? I've removed Reflective Shield from my priest's spec for this event, but I'd love to have it back if it doesn't affect charm collections. Same with my druid and not using Thorns.
Thanks.

No one really knows when the Charms actually drop. Some say its level based, some say you need to get experience, some say its specific mobs.. But none of it has been proven. Personally, I get it randomly, doesn't matter what level or mob it is.
From what i understand, you get the charms automatically when you kill something. I don't think it depends on how its killed, as long as you have the credit for the kill...

I know its from killing mobs that give xp or honor.
What I heard was, you have to get the killing blow to get a chance at a charm. However, I've noticed while soloing that Reflective Shield, when it is the first damage on a mob, lowers the xp gained from that mob. That leads me to believe that it is not considered the priest's damage. Which would therefore mean if it gets the killing blow, it does not count as the priest getting the killing blow.
So I would think that would mean no chance at a charm if it gets the killing blow. But my comment saying so was purged, and I found no reply to it on that page. So I am wondering now.

XP gain from a specific mob is static. Meaning, its level determines what exp you get... Lets say you are level 48.... If you notice, a mob might be level 50, where the same one next to it might be 53. Obviously the 53 will give you more exp...
Exp doesn't degrade when soloing, by using a specific ability. If you were in a Party, yes you would get less Exp. As for using your ability and receiving less Exp, i doubt that was the reason.
No ability in the game gives you less Exp... Look at the mobs Name tag, if it is grey you get no exp, if it is red you get full exp you qualify for. It only turns grey if someone else hits it first, they get credit. So your Reflective Shield will not change the credit you get. in 5 years, i have never heard anything like that happening.

I've seen it a bunch, mainly with Shaman Lightning Shield and now Disc Reflective Shield (not sure about Thorns).
Example: I'm fighting cats in Swamp of Sorrows. Same mob, same level. I damage one with my Holy Fire first, and he comes running with another one. The other one hits my shield first, taking damage. When I kill them both I see the one who took my shield as its first damage gave me 6 or so less xp. Not much, but enough to make me think the shield's damage does not count as the priest's damage... as if some other player were helping me. Its not another player, but it is a source of damage that is (apparently) not mine.
EDIT: clarity

Well, id post the issue on Blizzards forums, that seems like a bug.... It should not be doing that. If it actually does happen.

Some say its level based, some say you need to get experience, some say its specific mobs
When people say you need to "kill mobs that grant XP", that just means a green mob or higher no matter what level you are, aka level based. Essentially every mob drops loot depending on your level. There are specific mobs your level range which
do not
give out tokens and those would be mobs that don't grant XP like mobs that are the subject of vehicle fights.
This certainly sounds like a bug and should be reported on the official boards.
Regarding the purge, it may have been down-rated because you wrote "It seems", people are looking to the comments for definite facts. Discussions like this thread here are better to hash out the problem and then later a definite fact can be made on the comments. See

If that is true, then why would i get only 3 tokens after a full clear in Sethekk Halls, which is a Yellow level range 65-73. Im 69..... Wouldn't it go to say that I would have received a Charm for every kill, or at least every other kill. Being that I received Experience from every kill in that instance... I even received Charms from mobs that dropped loot for someone else in the party.

Not sure why you would only get 3. You needed to have the kill shot previously, it has been changed to random distribution now. I don't think it is 100% drop rate either, but all green or higher mobs have a
chance
to reward the Lovely Charms.

I suggest testing it for yourself - get some mobs of your level (so you should have a decent charm rate), and nuke them down to a point. Allow reflective shield to finish them off.
If you get no charms after killing like 10-20 mobs, it's probably safe to say that it does have an effect. However, they did modify the way charms were allocated in instances, so it could be possible it was fixed.
With the charms, it's mobs/players who are not "grey level" in comparison to your level, and there are certain mob types that just won't give them to you. Elementals are the only ones I've found so far that fit into this category, which does rather make sense (lack of stuff to make into a charm).
I'll try that thanks.
And you can add the Frenzyheart in southwest Sholazar to the list of ones that will not give charms. (The ones the Oracle battle daily has you kill).

As for the person saying a mob's XP is static, this is not exactly true. If someone else damages the mob (they don't have to be in party), this DOES have an effect on the amount of XP granted, so it could be conceivable that if a damage doesn't have its source properly specified, the amount of XP gained can change.
I dont know what your talking about. I have leveled all my characters that way. 2 separate accounts duleboxing. I pull with the low level, make the first damage, then kill with my 80. The low-level gets full experience. I do that with all my friends also. So i say your wrong, from my many years of doing it specifically because it works. They are not in Party either....

Odd. I have only gotten full xp from a mob someone helped with when the helper was very close to my level. When a much higher level does damage to it, the xp is reduced. I think it depends on the damage the higher level did; the higher the % of the mobs total health the higher level damaged, the lower the lower level's xp gain.

I believe that only counts IF you are in a party. They make it possible because any rival faction can come along and kill your mobs as you attack them...
