I need a tanking spec for heroic farming. This doesn't have to be the cookie cutter raiding spec since the requirements for raiding are slightly different than those for heroics.
My first thought was something like this:

Pretty much trying to maximize aoe damage with that one.
Tell me what you guys think.

Skip improved cleave (it's much weaker than it sounds) and unbridled wrath (it's terrible) in fury, as well as dropping all or most points in cruelty (good talent but you need the points elsewhere). Get imp. heroic strike (filler) plus impale and deep wounds in arms. Drop imp. revenge, imp. disciplines and imp. bloodrage in prot, pick up toughness and max out one-handed weapon spec.
Glyph-wise, skip resonating power and get devastate, or possibly sunder armor or a survivability glyph. Or even glyph of vigilance if you feel you need the threat (you shouldn't, ideally).
You'll end up with something like
this

I turned 80 on Friday, but had some ilvl 200 gear waiting for me, and have since picked up the T9 shoulders/gloves and a few decent heroic drops.
I was using the sticky build, and I can see why cleaving glyph would help, and I didn't take it (I use it in my dps spec, so I think I'll get it), but in relation to this discussion, with revenge being the 'meh' ability of the rotation, and Devastate being the ability we spam to proc S&B and fill time until we can shield slam again, is the devastate glyph really all that? I could see if it was like a druid's lacerate where they only use it once per 15 seconds to keep their bleed stack up, but prot warriors use devastate a lot, I assumed, so the 2 stacks at a time becomes less needed?
So wouldn't something like Vigilance be better in that spot? The big problem I've been having is that someone with mostly ilvl 200 gear is tanking in front of dps wearing T10. Keeping aggro is impossible most of the time, so having vigilance glyph closes that gap for me.

The devastate glyph does two things; it allows you to get up sunder stacks faster, and it makes your devastate do more threat. It's true that you use devastate a lot, but in a heroic instance you will often face many mobs and thus you will be spreading your devastates around to different mobs by changing targets. You'll also be using thunder clap every 6 seconds and shockwave every 20, plus shouts and other stuff, so it's not all devastate spam.

Sweet, thanks for the replies guys. I really appreciate your input.
For the record i won't be a total noob once i reach 80. All through tbc i was a prot pally and continued to be prot through most of 3.1. Rest of Wotlk i was healing/dpsing but never managed to get over my love for tanking.
Although new to warrior tanking i have a general idea of what's required for heroics. Once i get enough of the badge/drops for my tanking set i was looking for a spec to simply farm out badges for say dps/pvp gear. I really like the idea of using dps gear once i get high enough defense/hp-pool/avoidance.
