Feel free to exclude or delete the Patch files... If you need them sometime, the game will download them. Such files are named similer to:
WoW-3.2.0-enUS-patch.exe
WoW-3.3.0.10958-to3.3.0.11159-enUS-downloader.exe
WoW-***-downloader.exe
WoW-***-patch.exe
*** = wildcard, anything could be there...
Any files that look like those, feel free to delete or exclude from your device.

Not that i know of. I don't know who said that, but on the
Official Technical Support Forum
, they say its possible and the game can run on anything. I will look up some topics,if i can find some. You may want to post on the Forum also, and ask. It should be fine...
EDIT: here is some information, and Datth is involved too. Datth is a major Tech guy at Blizzard.

I would still ask them if its bannable. I dont want to say you can, and get you in trouble.
Also, putting it on a USB key is not advisable because a USB key dont run fast enough. If you want to carry the game with you, invest in an External Hard-drive. They should be cheap enough and much larger in space than you need. Find one thats eSata, or USB 2.0....
Look here..
