Leveling through LFD Questions

I currently have a Lv 10 rogue which I will be leveling via random dungeons. I was hoping you could give me any advice.
I've never while leveling my protection warrior or restoration druid through dungeons seen a rogue who didn't end up last on damage done. I'm taking that as a challenge.
I read the 3.2 guide up on this forum and decided combat is probably best.
But what weapons should I use? I have access to all BoAs but I'm not sure because of
Close Quarters Combat
or
Hack and Slash
. I guess the best choice for main hand is
Venerable Dal'Rend's Sacred Charge
.
Should I go with
Battleworn Thrash Blade
for offhand? Will the fact that's it's BoA and its extra attacks make up for the lack of speed? Or should I go with
Balanced Heartseeker
even if i don't go into
Close Quarters Combat
?
Do you have any other tips to help me dominate damage meters (that wasn't already obvious from the guide)?
I swear I had another question. Oh well, forgot ¯\_(0.o)_/¯
Thanks!

Mass of McGowan
and the
Heartseeker
. Some might swear by
dal'rend's
because of ZOMG SWORD SPEC, but in reality, all three specializations are pretty close to each other in performance at end-game. The mace is just better itemized.
Slice and Dice
.

I hadn't even thought of using a mace. O_O
I never see mace-using rogues.
Mace Specialization
then I guess.
Never really looked in-depth at
Slice and Dice
before. (Just found out 50-60% of a combat rogue's damage is auto attack)
Very useful stuff, thanks KidB.
Additional question: Backstab requires a dagger in main hand. Combat in general favours a slow main hand, so you'll never normally have a main hand dagger. Why do so many combat talents improve Backstab? Is that just a Blizzard fail? :\

I would like to know if you can top the meters and how you were able to.
I intend to keep my gear up-to-date, including enchants, always be the first one in to attack (right after the tank of course), use my experience from having leveled 2 characters (protection warrior and restoration druid) through LFD already, and also general experience from having played the game for over 2 years as many classes and on many levels. Of course staying alive will also help do more damage.
I'm also doing as much research as I can. I know very little about rogues unfortunately, and information on pre-80 dps is had to find.
And besides that, I'm also counting on the other damage dealers to suck. I've noticed that most of the leveling players have no idea what they're doing and they don't seem to care. I do care about doing the best I can so I will try.
If that fails, I'm going to feel sorry for all rogues who have to miss out on Fan of Knives for so long

I've been leveling my rogue in lfd since about lvl 20 (now 32), and i tend to top the dps charts in every one of them. I'm sub spec with 2 heartseekers using agility scrolls, strength or agility potions (she has alchemy and didn't have the world drop recipe for a while), and poisons after 20.
I've topped the charts on dps and damage in some cases doing upwards of 50% of all damage done, and beat aoe mages and warlocks.
