CoD vs. CoE (Destro/Demo)

I've been reading up in the guides, and hitting other information in order to more broadly expand my understanding of abilities and talents.
I did a major /headsmack when I realized I'd not been making use of one of my most powerful spells in raiding: Curse of Doom. That's already one major improvement to my DPS, right there.
So I'm just curious though... I am sure that CoD does much more for a Warlock's personal DPS count. The two questions I have are:
1. When is it better to use CoE?
(What is the breaking point, where you're screwing over your raid team by not applying CoE to maximize the damage of ALL incoming spells?) The FAQ does seem to emphasize the need for this or some similar debuff to be applied. And what I have read on similar debuffs (Scorch, and Druidsprocketwhatzit) seems to indicate that CoE is better. So, if I'm the only Warlock in the raid, I get CoE duty?
Obviously, if I don't think a fight will last a minute following a curse casting, I would probably use CoE... either as a replacement, or as a follow-up to the first CoD.
EDIT: Sorry guys. I may have answered my own question, with rereading a section. Thanks. #2 is still a question I'd like to get a good answer on, though. (I don't want to &*!@ of my Tank or team)
2. Since CoD does such massive damage, what is the risk of suddenly getting boss aggro on yourself?
Forgive me if the answers seem obvious to yourselves. I'm just trying to assign a mental weight to the various curses in order to decide what to use, where, and with whom.

Edit: your not 80 yet, so CoD is useless untill you hit 80 and only in raiding, unless of course your doing BC raiding.
Wow, so the difference between level 70 (CoD rank 2) and level 80 (rank 3) is that much. I guess it almost doubles, looking at it again.
And as far as aggro... the CoD's burst would be falling on top of whatever else you're doing. (And yeah, you are prolly right about the Tank... but I'm finding a lot of wannabe tanks in the LFG. Melee players who just want to get into an instance faster, and check
TANK
without having the right gear or spec. Last week? I had a Tank show up wearing
Red Winter Clothes
for his chest item.
Thanks for the info. It's much appreciated.

CoE when there is no other warlock applying it/a boomkin in your raid group.
Allow me to add Unholy DK's to that.

answer to question #2: the tank gets 1 min to get aggro on the boss before CoD goes off. If he can hold the rest of your burst, he can hold CoD.

Nothing a good ol' taunt can't handle ^^
Just make sure you don't stand too close to the boss (Marrowgar's Bonestorm comes to mind) when it happens. But you should be doing that anyways ;-)
