Hello!
I recently went to ret from prot and I tried some laps at the dummy and if I am using consecration on every cd I will go oom soon. I try to judge wisdome but it still happend.
So my question is, is it wise to use consecration on every cd or just save it for larger packs?

im going to assume that youre using a cookie cutter ret build and have the judgements of the wise talent
i guess it doesnt really matter how fast youre burning down trash but definitely keep it up for boss fights.
oh and cast DP often if you havent been

Unless you have 2p t10 you should never go OOM judging wisdom. We need more information about what youre doing.
Also whats the use not casting cons? 400dps nerf? Bring mana pots.

Yeah I use some kind of cookie cutter specc. I will alternate it some to get Aura Mastery instead of Divine Sacrify.
I tried selfbuffed (might, corruption) on dummy and I did something like
Judge > CS > DS > Exo > Cons
I think I started with judging light and then switched to wisdom when I noticed I was running low on mana.
And according to DP, no I didnt cast it once. I wanted to see if I could do well without it. I will use it when I use the wings because then I burn mana like hell.

So you came to tell us you are running out of mana while not using your skill for replenishing mana?

While I can see your point returning 25% of ~5800 mana over 15sek aint that much + it got 1m cd.
Basically what I need to know the answer of is that if its possible to do normal "rotation" including cons with judging wisdom but dont use divine plea?

you are doing it wrong
use the mana returning spell. keep using it. just. keep. using it.
and i promise your mana problems will go away
edit: also i think you are totally underestimating how amazing getting 25% of your mana back every minute is

You still dont get the point. If you want to use all the skills that drain mana, you should use all the skills that give mana also.
What is the problem with using skill on a minute CD? Wings have much longer CD and it seems you already managed to push the button.

Have fun DPSing with zero mana, kid.

No that's bad because then you aren't using SoV.
Also you don't use mana any faster when you use AW.
Edit: If you're really having trouble, bring mana pots. Ret paladins have enough tools to keep themselves alive without keeping their potion sickness open for a health pot.

I find Judgement of Wisdom to be what's tipping the scales for me. If it's up on the target, I can go all out for a long time. Couple it with DP usage and a mana spring totem somewhere nearby, and the only time the I notice mana dropping is when HoW kicks in.
If it is missing, however, I can't maintain full rotation for any considerable amount of time. If encounter calls for JoL and I'm the only paladin, it's bye bye consecration, hello my precious runic mana injectors.

DP is there for a reason...use it..
often
...avoiding it is silly. Once you roll through your rotation a couple times you will see that every now and then every attack you can do will all be on CD at the same time for about a second or two..this is the best time to hit DP. Depending on the overall dps of a raid or group there is not a lot of need to case conc on single target trash but it is essential for mobs and bosses.
I am not saying I wont use it, I just wonder if its possible to go all out without it.
Anyway I did toc10 just now and when judging wisdome its alot easier to maintain the manapool.

why do you not want to use divine plea? there's nothing wrong with it.. you're not a healer, so there's absolutely no reason for you to NOT use it every time it comes off cooldown whether you're low on mana or not.
what do you want to do, have DP written into the rotation? here, let me do that for you..
DP (when off cooldown) > HoW > CS > Judge > Exo (when AoW procs) > DS > Cons
there's your bloody rotation with divine plea written in.
it's there, use it.. if you're not using it and complaining about mana problems... *headshake* there's really no help we can give you..

theres no reason to purposefully gimp yourself. if anything keeping divine plea up will help you "go all out"
we have these spells for a reason

I wonder if it's possible to go all out without Divine Storm and Crusader Strike... *cough*
