Most likely. If you catch em at a good time they'll usually do stuff.
Once I accidentally vendored my Rimefang's Claw, and I asked for it back and they just mailed to me the next day. You'll probably have to wait a day or two.

GMs are very happy tonight, my account had been restored from a hacking about a month and a half ago, but my old level 60 hunter was not restored. I filed a report and
within an hour
of sending it all of my stuff was in my mailbox. I know, I was more shocked than you are.

I did the same mistake sort of, and the I had two Game Masters reimbursing my item for me after about 10 hours.
(I made two tickets, one on the character I bought the item on, and another ticket on the character I was currently playing on.)
Normally, you have 3days to report a mispurchased item. In patch 3.2(?) when they implemented the re-sell item feature to the game, the Game Masters would usually tell you that they can't reimburse items no more due to the newly added feature. Although, some of them are usually quite nice, so I think that if a Game Master refuse to help you, simply make another ticket and hope for a happier Game Master.

Tickets are linked across characters, so if you're not currently playing on the character you filed the ticket on, then the GM can still contact you.
