Life tap if you want, I'll heal you for the most part, but if you die shortly after you life tap, don't blame me! I promise you, I'll be laughing and not rezzing you.

I'll rez. But I'll still be laughing. ;-)
And yes... I've had to explain Life Tap to a lot of newbie Warlocks. I was amazed to see them, stopping in the middle of battle, sitting and drinking, instead of using this simple ability. And I had to tell them to look at getting a Glyph of Life Tap, straightaway. Explaining that it would be like having a permanent +SP enchantment was enough to get them interested. ;-)
(Thanks, nihmue.)

I tend to try to life tap when i am at 70/80% and only after trash. With the current amount of crazy dps, 5 man roic trash mobs are normally dead before my mana is any lower anyway. A quick tap and i am pretty much full mana, still moving and have lost very little health meaning healer only needs to pop a quick hot on me. Even if they dont, its not like i am at 50% or something.
Dont know if this has been mentioned before but.... 2 little tips for tap happy locks !
Healthstone - you will go through shards but useful to have one handy just in case healer is under pressure and you are needing to tap ( i normally cast rit of souls anyway at start if i get time, every little helps)
Herbalism - Lifeblood. If you need to do more than 1 or 2 taps, i have a macro which states i am using lifeblood to replenish health lost through tapping on the go - healer, you can leave me be !
I have never had a complaint about that. I am generally 100/100% by the time we hit the next fight. This is especially true when you know you have a good few extra seconds between mobs, HOS comes to mind.

Two more:
1. Bandaging. First aid is a very cheap and easy skill to level up. Cloth drops off humanoids in the game like crazy. If you level up First Aid early, you can keep it up, and you'll be maxed out before you hit 80.
2. If you are a Forsaken Warlock, then use Cannibalize, and use it often. +35% health, every couple of minutes? You can get free mana from eating your enemies.

It's really simple.
if you're tapping when the healer is OOM, you're doing it wrong. But, that requires actually paying attention so I can see why you'd need to ask, I guess.

I always put Wisdom on Locks and they always cry for Kings or MightYou have actually found locks that want might?

Thanks to this thread, the first thing I do when I land in a random group it see if there is a warlock and tell them to LT all they want and tell the tank to chain pull. I even had a 28k health paladin not want to chain pull- they said, "Look at my health." To which I responded, "Look at my mana." It's all about go at your own pace with me. I actually now watch the warlocks and toss a heal when they are low on mana or at the end of a pull.
Forming a habit.

If only one Warlock is saved by this thread, then it was worth it.

As long as you don't with drain your entire health bar with 5 to 6 consecutive taps, I'm sure any healer would have no problem throwing a HoT or a Flash of Light etc. on you. Especially at later levels, healers know that this is how a lock gains mana and knows how to react to it. People who don't heal tapping locks and leave them draining life to barely stay alive are plain stupid. After all, a dead dps (or in some cases, a Drain Life-spamming lock) is not a dps.
My point is, Life Tap is one of the Warlock's most important spells, just don't overuse it, and you never have to worry about not getting healed.

I only heal the locks who are doing decent dps... if you're lifetaping and your dps is aweful... might as well be dead cuz you're not pulling your weight anyway.
Gee, that's funny. Because, if I wanted to be a jerk about it, I could just let the healer die if either the Tank OR they, themselves, are sucking. This, because if the tank sucks, they'll be healing like mad and gaining aggro.
Sometimes we carry other players. Things that can be easily improved with gear are one thing.
Bad attitudes? Something entirely different.

This is so funny, this is one of my biggest complaints with Locks. I always put Wisdom on Locks and they always cry for Kings or Might...
I'd be complaining if a lock asked me for Might...
This made me lol hard.
I don't really think DegoRed knows what's he's talking about.

If a healer can't throw a flash of light or lesser healing wave, etc. on a warlock to heal them, something is wrong.
warlocks don't take much to heal.
they can lifetap to zero, then i will hit them with a FoL or a LHW and they are almost at full HP again.
If it takes two, it takes two.
if you're a holy pally and your mana is dropped from one or two FoLs, you need to change something, either in your spec or your gear.
