I agree with Kitty's post.
Also if the guild your in needs you at 450 then they would ask or even supply the mats for you to lvl. If the Op is in a high member guild then they more then likely have maxed bs in the guild so its not needed. I'm in a raid guild and we have 15 maxed bs in the guide so its pointless to lvl passed 400 unless you want to do it.

It's just a standard internet ^&*!@#bag commenting on your professions. As long as you have over 400 BS for the sockets, it doesn't matter. Any of the normal Titansteel BoE 200 stuff can be crafted by 100 different blacksmiths on the server. Until you get Ulduar or ToC patterns, it doesn't matter if you yourself have blacksmithing maxed out.
Saying "whoevers toon that is their profession sucks" and "cant be much of a team player with skills that low" is just trying to pick a fight. 450 JC and 432 Blacksmithing doesn't "suck" and the only thing it prevents you from contributing to the team is either crap common BoE epics or Raid Drop BoE epics you probably don't even have access to.
Now, if you had like 350 Blacksmithing and 300 JC, then you'd be an anchor to your raid and I'd call you on it. (And unless you came back saying "I'm in the process of leveling it and I'll be done tomorrow" then it's just bad.) Nothing wrong with non-maxed Blacksmithing, as long as it's over 400.

I'd say it doesn't even matter with epic patterns. The cost of crafting those pieces has always been sort of prohibitive, and odds are people with enough money to buy them know the material cost and would rather have them crafted. I'm completely fine leaching off of my server's crafters that even tell me "no tip/fee ^_^". Their loss.
Blacksmithing's only mass produced product goes gray at 435. Eternal Belt Buckle. Enchanting rods can sell well. Sometimes dumb people buy shieldspikes. Titanium Weapon Chains can sell too. All of them can be crafted with non-max'd Blacksmithing. There's honestly no reason for me to be 450/450. There are always people that wasted their time by collecting 450 recipes and leveled it to craft them. They may sell quickly at a decently high markup, but I don't know. It seems to be riskier than the neverending stream of gold from Belt Buckles.
If a guild wanted me to level to 450, I'd be super-stingy and ask them to pay for the mats.
