Strictly speaking, Sabellius is right. However, this is heavily dependant on the gear you have available to you, aswell as your play style. Personally, switching from blood to unholy was the greatest thing I've ever done. I went through and read everything on elitstjerks and ensidia and I've profited much. In fact, to prove an example I was dropped from an ICC raid the other day for being in a blood spec that I was experimenting with. I was at 7th on the dps meters. Now, without changing gear, I switched to Unholy and topped out the guild dps meters. Felt great.
Arguable:
Here are the proofs :

Unholy was definitely king in toc and beginning ICC but blood is definitely on par with it at the moment.

Get 4p t9 and go unholy 17/00/54.
You do not have nearly as much arpen needed for blood and your strength is too low.

The 21 crit rating variant, you'll need to fill 2 blue sockets with str/stam gems and try to trigger socket bonuses instead. Use which you prefer, though the agi variant is slightly better overall.
This is only partially true.
The Agi variant is only better if you lack two pieces of gear with no blue sockets, one yellow socket and any number of red sockets with a +5 Str or better bonus. As this is not the case (especially considering T9 and crafted ToC patterns), CSD is nearly always better.
The CSD (2 blue) requirement is supposed to be met using one Nightmare Tear and one Sov. Dreadstone.
