Survial/marksmanship gear differences

I've been running my hunter survival but am about to add dual spec marks once I get a couple more armor pen pieces. However, I know that some high-movement fights do better as survival than marksmanship, even in ICC. Do I need to be saving some of my haste pieces for said survival-speced encounters, or will an equivalent armor-pen piece be better even as survival?
Basically, can my marks gear double as my survival gear?

From my personal experience, I would disagree with this. Marks has more instant cast shots that can be cast running, and with SV you can lose Sniper Training if you have to keep moving which hurts it even more.

you only want to start gemming for ArPen as a MM hunter once you reach a certain point of passive (static) ArPen. I believe it is around 600-700 static ArPen

eoh to each there own I guess I pull typically in the mid 7k's on Saurfang 10 but I do also have better gear and the 1168 arpen rating mean I hit like a truck 12k Chimera Crits and 30k Kill Shot crits :)

600-700? if your not a JC, you can gem like 16-18 socket for arp. example we take 18(18X20=360), we get 360. so you only get to 1060 arp passive, is that enough? is 75% arp enough to get your dps up? with my current gears and if i gem all arp i can only get to 1100 arp, thats not even 80%. btw, i dieing to get that bow of yours + DBW :). if i get my hand on both item i surely am gemming arp. IMO 80% arp will be enough but cant be sure.

well IMO only I started gemming for ArPen around 600-700 and saw an immediate dps increase . . I also picked up JC specifically for the 34 ArPen Gems . . Im sitting at 1168 ArPen (in the post above) which is roughly 83% and its a very nice dps boost provided you know when you should or should not move . I like the Banner of Victory for the 84 static ArPen. But with 600-700 passive arpen (or 1060) and
NES
when NES procs you will hit ArPen cap with 700 at 1060 you will be over ArPen cap of 1400 (100%)

celtis, what your dps on a tank and spank fight like festergut(10 or 25 man)? i wanna base your gears see if getting to 80%+ arp is also good on dps. beacuse from what im reading they say you have to be at 800-900 passive arp to start gemming arp. i see you dont even have a T9 2pc set, have you tried plugging it in femaledwaf to see how it goes? from what i see in your gears you have less than 50%crit and other stat are lower.
as on my previous posts here about arp, i have NES for trink and now only have 606arp. i did the change yesterday and have to see how my gear change will affect my dps. i have 2 T10.5 and 2 T10 now. as before im using 2 T10.5 and 2 T9.5, with 636 arp. im doing ok dps as to compare when i have 722arp+NES with lesser gears 2 months ago.
im really want the DBW, with this trink i'll use belt of deathly dominion instead of my linked scourge vertebrae(ilvl251) and it will get me to 800+arp then i'll start gemming.
