Hmm sounds like the kid was a bit off. 16 seems to be a bit young to be devoting yourself to a woman like that and even more so when she is a 42 year old mother of 4. Some of her children are probably the same age or even older then that kid.
I loved the one about the kid dieing because his parents took away CoD. What the !@#$ is wrong with these people? I know I would me a bit mad if my parents took away wow but I would ge tover it fast and I wouldn't run away and I defently wouldn't die because of it. I'm not sure who to blame though, the parents for letting their kids get so retarded they die over a game or the kids for being that dumb.
Iunno how lucky he is. It depends on how attractive the woman was.
4 kids mate... even if she was attractive her Va-J.J would be shot.
I'm just curious why she was attracted to the kid, 16 year olds arent very mature. This lady just wanted a trophy husband and over shot a little bit.

That's actually a complete misconception, and very vulgar.
I highly doubt you have any firsthand experience with the care and maintenance of female anatomy.
It is definitely shoddy parenting to allow video games to control the family to that extent. The kid was probably seeking attention, and the predator found an easy victim.

I wonder if they met in Goldshire?

Like throwin a hot dog down a hallway?
Anyway...
The first part of your article I completely agree with. It's hard to pin it on the kids, when it's the parents job to step in and teach them. Letting your kid devote 40 hours a week to an MMO when they are going to school is absurd (just throwin out a random nunber.) Just like politicians and parents saying it's the video games fault that kids go to school with handguns and open fire on everything. It's not the games, it's all about the failure of the parent for not being involved with their kids life. And if you read the reports on some of these games, and the content of the games, then don't buy it for your kids. It's not THAT difficult to monitor what your kids are buying and bringing into your home. And who cares what they're doing at a friends house? Unless the majority of their free time is at their friends house, in that room, playing a game, the limited exposure isn't going to have that cataclysmic effect you think is really going to happen from playing a game. And if your kid is going to that friend's house a whole lot? Consider restricting that. You're the parent, do something about it. Take some control and responsibility.

Kitty, explain to me how she is a predator. It seems like the relationship between the two of them stemmed from a mutual interest, and not from her looking for someone to have sex with.
The fact remains, both were legal adults in their respective locales. The guy's mother was just being overprotective of her son, and used Texas law to have Ms. Price arrested. Let's look at her charges:
*
Online solicitation of a minor
He is a legal adult where he was using the computer, so this doesn't really apply
*
Enticing a minor to leave lawful custody
Again, he wasn't a minor by local law
*
Alleged attempt to commit felony sexual assault
Not really clear, but probably relating the the whole "age of consent" discrepancy between where he lives and where she lives
Her punishments? In custody with a $20k bond. Ankle monitor. Prohibition from using the Internet or contacting any child. Loss of job. All because she discussed "sexual encounters" and had sex with someone who was considered a consenting adult where he lived but a minor where she was?

After poking around at a few different news sites that covered it, I came up with
this
. It's very skimpy on the important details (like the age of consent in Canada), but it has some details that the National Post doesn't.

She pursued an underage child online.
It includes many hundreds of messages, in which they discussed all variety of sexual encounters, with Ms. Price using language that Mr. Devlin described as "flowery."
"I can't say it made me blush," he said. "But I can tell you it was on the upper end of sexual graphic-ness."
He described Mr. Kane as "somewhat naive" and
Ms. Price - known as Liliana in the World of Warcraft game - as the "driving force"
in the discussions.
"I won't say stalking, but
she was very persistent
," he said.

The alleged predator was a middle school teacher, a person in a position of power over other children of similar age to the victim in this case. If she would seek out a child and pursue him for her own sexual gratification, she is at a much higher risk of abusing a student *if it hasn't happened already.*
It does not matter if the actions that took place in Canada were technically not illegal, the actions she allegedly engaged on online in Texas most certainly are.
If this were a 42 year old MALE middle school teacher, who traveled to Canada to abduct a 16 year old female, this would not make as many headlines, and there would be no debate like this. People would be calling him a psycho predator, demanding he never have contact with kids again, and be castrated.
Double standard much?

He claimed to be 20, though, above both Texas's and Canada's ages of consent. She didn't find out he was 16 until the Canadian police told her when they were found (
source
). To her, what she was doing would have been perfectly legal no matter if he was in Barrie, Ontario or in Houston, Texas.

It has been my experience that for all that they are, teenagers are some of the dumbest people around.
To attempt and posit blame to any one faculty here, I think would be absurd.
And I don't want to call the meeting of someone over the internet a bad idea either, since there is success in programs such as eHarmony and the like. It would be worse for you to try and wrangle a mate while intoxicated, actually.
To the point: This woman is soliciting a 16 year boy from Texas. Whether the boy is considered a consenting adult in Canada is irrelevant, since she is the defendant here, and she lives in Texas. So far as Texas law cares it doesn't make any difference where the boy lives.
She
is the one soliciting, the boy is only guilty by frame of ignorance.

Thats the thing that makes me mad about these stories.
Female paedophile 'seduces' a male 'child', it's love.
Male paedophile 'seduces' a female 'child', it's rape.
I can't see why she was prosecuted though. He is of consenting age in his locale, as is she. Consenting adults engaging in sexual activity is not illegal.

Bruce, the parents found out about his contact with her a
year
before they met. The parents found MSN chat logs between Ms. Price and Mr. Kane in September 2008, at which point they should have contacted her directly and tell her to cease contact with their son.

They did. They also removed his computer access and sent him to counseling. She continued to pursue her victim.
Even if 16 is the legal age of consent, when the contact was initiated over a year ago he was NOT 16. Either way you slice it, she is accused of breaking the law in Texas, and she is facing the consequences in Texas.
4 kids can do a lot of stretching. Unless she gets a rejuvenation, I don't see her competing with many childless-adults.
Again with the misogyny and misinformation.
Since you continue to go there, the female anatomy is a muscle, and like other muscles can be exercised. If a woman or man neglects the pelvic floor muscles, their quality of life will be correspondingly diminished. However it only takes minutes a day to ensure continued satisfaction, deeply fulfilling satisfaction, for years to come.
And that's all I have to say about that.

(You guys do realise that the "child" is probably not entirely blameless in this situation coming about, right?)
