Because prior to this new lfd system a brand new 80 in quest greens and blues would have ZERO chance of getting into a heroic. If you queue up like that you're being lazy and expecting to get carried. It's one thing if you have guildies or friends who queue with you and want to help you gear up. It's an entirely other thing to expect random strangers to carry your butt. At that point you're wasting my time which yeah I see as rude. I don't really see your point, it's not like I'm saying everyone should have 5k gear and do 4k dps, that's ridiculous, but it's equally ridiculous to do sub 1k dps and think you should be pugging random heroics.
Erm, I can fondly remember doing Heroics (tanking & healing) in Blues on two different characters before the LFD system existed & gear score was in common usage.
Quite frankly the way I see it you can either...
a. Create your perfect group through /2 where everyone is massivly overgeared. Might take you a while waiting (and they could still be useless) but that's the price you pay.
or
b. Go LFD with randoms. 9/10 it will be quick and painless. Sometimes you'll carry people, sometimes you'll get carried.... but emblems are emblems!
Personally I'd take the latter without a second thought. People whinging about GS in HCs is just petty imo.

next, why should the poor fresh 80's have to wait months on end in some cases to do heroics?
You can get a full set of 80 boe blues and epics in about a day of farming gold and using the ah.
Alternatively, you can go into heroics, with Blizzard's blessing, and pull the required DPS.

Says the person too lazy to use full words.
you write a huge post in text-speak, and
I
am lazy? Sweet, sweet irony...
So u actually consider anybody that uses DPS as being lazy too...wow u must be new to the internet...and I suppose u type every sentence with perfect spelling and grammer when u r in the middle of an instance while fighting a boss?
Irony...indeed.
Just another flamer.
Oh...welcome to the Internet. (Looks like u r still unaware of it.)
If u r too lazy to read, don't comment on that post.

I think u should just q lfd while questing. Its fun doing instance anyway, prepare u for heroics and will allow u to get better gears than questing. In fact, u can lvl pretty quickly by doing instances.
For tanks and heals though, I think they need to research a bit and get some decent gear.
I tried tanking without...realised that not many heal can keep me alive (major dmg spikes due to low def) went and did some research on this site and got helpful comments in forum, went farming some decent gear b4 I got back into tanking.

I will never farm rep or buy gear to run heroics.
The only exception would be if I was tanking, which I don't do and will never do.

Even with english as my first language I find text-speak quite irritating to read. I can only imagine how difficult others with a different first language find it.
No one is suggesting the use of common WoW-related abbreviations are bad (DPS, TPS, mp5, and so on). Those are fine, we use them to communicate all the time. You weren't using them, however.
Non-words like; u, y, r, any1, ppl, b4 (and so on) are plain irritating and lazy. There is absolutely no need to use this crap on a message forum where you are not, in fact, "in the middle of an instance while fighting a boss".
No one is suggesting they type "Oh my dear Swampmonster, would you mind terribly if we stopped for a mana break before the next pull? You see, I'm rather low on the stuff and it would be beneficial for all of us if I could replenish my supply before we continue. Thanks ever so much" while in an instance. We say "mb", for obvious reasons.
Don't confuse abbreviations in-game, where they are expected and accepted due to the nature of the game, with text-speak abbreviations on a message forum, where they are completely pointless and generally annoying.
You begin your post with "There r ppl that r simply lazy" and can't understand how people think you're being hypocritical? You were too lazy to type "There are people who are simply lazy". 7 extra letters would have taken too much of your time? Really?

Seen a few people say DPS is easy to carry (which it is, no argument from me).
But y'know, a geared group can carry a tank if they've got a few braincells between them.
LFD gave me (fury warrior well overgeared) hc VH yesterday. The hunter, warlock and priest were all similarly geared to me, and the druid tank was rockin' 27k fully buffed hp in bear form. I inspect him (I suspect we all did, tbh) and he's got an interesting mix of tank and cat gear (quest greens and blues, not a single heroic drop that I could see).
No one said anything, we started the instance...and I didn't even have to tone down my DPS. I waited an extra couple of seconds longer than normal before charging in, but it wasn't really necessary. His threat generation and actual tanking skills were so good I armouried him after the run,
positive
he was a veteran player just messing about in crappy gear. Armoury didn't support the theory. After about 3 pulls the healer suddenly woke up.
Healer: wtf? 27k hp?
Me: he holds aggro like a pro, who cares what his hp is? ;)
Healer: um me, snce im healing
Me: please, you can do heroics with 19k and no probs
Healer: yeah, sure you can
Me: rofl. How do you think we were doing them a year ago?
By this time we'd gotten to the first boss (Ichoron) and the healer decides he's had enough of me (le sigh) and drops group. A healadin joined almost immediately, but couldn't get in while we were fighting. It cost mine and the tank's lives (impressive aggro-tennis from the hunter and lock on opposite sides of the room), but we made it. Pally gets in, resses, we get rebuffed, wait for the next portal.
Pally: Woah! 27k hp?
Me: (thinking - here we go again)
Pally: Nice! I'll have to stay awake for this one! :D
Now, that was the best run I've had with a tank who was so far under the gear levels of his group, and it just proves it's perfectly possible for a sensible group to work with an undergeared tank. I had one eye glued to Omen for the entire run and the hunter and lock were making regular use of their threat dumps, and...omg u'll nevah beleeeeve it! Teh tnak uzed a skull and we all atakkd teh skull b4 we did our AOE!11!one!
Even with the deaths and the slightly cautious DPS it was still only about a 23 min run and that druid was
stoked
we'd checked his gear, found it lacking, and stuck with him and praised his skills.
TLDR - moral of the story; give 'em a chance before you vote that kick, people can surprise you.
Well, thats the kind of healers I like. When buffing up in HC's and having 57k hp, and not rly taking any damage healers tend to get very bored. Most of them beggin me to take damage, so thats cool and I remove my shield so they have something to do. That's the cool kind of healers, those who aint there just to slack like hell.

If u hv difficulty reading this in this "off combat" situation, can't imagine how u would be able to read anything in combat.
Here's the fun fact about correct typing: if you practise it, you become faster at it than this textspeak rubbish.
I type with perfect spelling and grammar 100% of the time. Even while in combat, as you're so keen to bash on about. At 80 WPM, I don't particularly see the need to abbreviate and make myself appear to have an IQ of 70 when I can get my point across
far easier
using my normal, correct, method of communication.

Wow, using GS in Heroics. Good job, really. Good job.
God I miss the old days. Even the few weeks I had before WotLK.
