Ravenous Dead is not a filler in DPS Spec. +3% Strength? For tanking, you might prefer to put those 3 Talents in say Necrosis or... Dirge in your case. Or perhaps even Scent of Blood? (Added those Talents to the Unholy Builds section)
Curently having 1.5k STR self buffed on my DW frost dps offspec. 3% of which is 45, thats 90 AP. For 3 talent points? Its a filler unless you go for perma ghoul.
In a tank spec i get only 1k STR. Thats 30 str, giving whooping 60 ap for 3 talent points.
From Bladed Armor in tank spec i get 133 ap per talent point (provided that i got 24k armor, which is pretty average).
You do realize Unholy Blight has the ability to stack like Deep Wounds right? Meaning long as you got 1 UB every 10 seconds you can stack up damage that it deals over the course of the fight. If you use it correctly it can increase your total damage/threat from 2-5%, for a single talent spent. If you want Dirge or Scent of Blood in your Specs take it.
I think you misunderstand it. All the stacking means is that the it gives bonus damage to your death coil and its not being lost when you fire another death coil.
It works like this:
You fire a DC dealing 100 damage, you get 10 damage into the pool, resulting in 10 damage over 10 seconds.
After 2 seconds you fire another death coil, which adds 10 damage into the pool, resulting in another 10 damage over 10s.
All you get this way is 2 damage over 2s and after another DC 4 damage over 8 s and after another 2 damage over 2 s (provided that you dont fire additional death coils). Which in average gives 20 damage over 22 seconds.
The damage isnt mutiplied or refreshed. It deals only as much as it has in the pool.
What would happen if the damage didint stack?
It would produce 12 damage over 12 s.
What do you think it does?
I pressume you think it refreshes the pool to its maximum, multiplying the damage by the amount of death coils fired (it doesnt). In your case it would have done 22 damage over 20 seconds.
The difference really shows if we have a case of firing 5 DC every 2 seconds.
In not stacking scenario you would do 20 damage over 20s.
In real scanario it will produce 100 damage over 20 seconds.
In your scenario it would have produced 161 damage over 20 seconds.
The problem is your scenario is wishful thinking.
It can be simplified and calculated as scaling bonus of death coil damage. 14% more death coil damage for 1 talent point and 1 major glyph? No thanks.
Bone Shield is our best timer as Unholy, one more charge means one more hit with -20% damage taken. But whatever, if you think your healers can manage without it, don't take it.
I didint say anything about Bone shield talent. Its great CD. The glyph however is a joke.
The Spec you developed from my spec idea seems like nothing I suggested.

There isn't anything bad with Black Ice, but its in a bad location. Taking both Icy Touch and 5/5 Bladed Armor and Rage of Rivendare which are both superior values, you can't get more than 3 Points in Black Ice. If you can somehow get all those other talents you need and somehow have some extra points then take it. But its the last place I'd go for maximizing threat.
Already pointed out that Black Ice is better investement point per point threatwise than Bladed Armor. You are free to spare points in there.
You are blindlely maximising Bladed Armor (without any logical reason), while sparing points for Black Ice?
