I didn't snap, but I almost cried...
Random Heroics. Pally tank. He couldn't hold aggro, at all... I asked him to do Consecration, he obviously didn't feel like it, didn't even bother aknowledging my "suggestion"... We had 7 deaths total before the first boss... Oh, did I mention it was in Utgarde Keep? Yep. UK... He got voted out before we even tried the first boss, after showing us he couldn't even hold aggro on single target pulls... That's how bad he was. We could've explained to him the 96969 rotation, I never played Paladin, but read about it and "teached" it to 4 Pally friends who started tanking in the past, but ... I simply didn't feel like explaining it right there and then, especially considering he wasn't replying to us in chat... The guy was all 213+ epics, all enchanted and gemmed right, the spec looked right, but he obviously had no clue what he was doing, or even what he was supposed to be doing. The DPS might not have been helping, seeing how the mobs were all over the place, I suspect they didn't exactly focus fire, but..., honestly, who wouldn't simply AoE on UK trash, with a Paladin tank...? Anyhow, on that last single target pull before we voted him out, the DK DPS switched his weapon for a grey 2-hander that dropped off a mob and he went in alone, against the Pally and pulled aggro anyways, with the DK doing a whooping 1.4k DPS...

Anyhow, we replaced him and facerolled through the entire place in ~15 minutes, which is more than it took us for the first ~10 trash pulls.
I always said making the gear so easy to obtain simply allows everyone to get it, it doesn't make people have to "work" to become better players... Obviously, Blizzard wants everyone to have a shot at the Lich King, or at least, they want everyone to be able to get gear for ICC really easily, but what's the point in having the gear if you don't know how to use it (how to play your toon)...?
NB.: I was farming Emblems with my fresh-80 Druid this weekend, there's no way I'd let 7 deaths happen on my Priest, no matter how bad the tank is.
PS.: After he was gone, I kinda felt bad and told my guildy/groupmate...:
Poor guy, now that's one guy who won't benefit from the random groups feature, can you imagine how often this guy must get kicked in a day?
...and honestly, I'll bet he's getting kicked of every single group he was supposed to be tanking for, that's simply how bad he was...

? WTF are you all talking about? The instances weren't the problem, it's that we don't have a regular disco priest in my guild to raid ICC. LOL!
I healed all of the new heroics in PUGs with no problems, deaths, or mana issues. Then again, I also out-gear the place so I might as well have been doing Deadmines...
Either way, though, I switched to Disco so that we would have more mitigation on our DK and Druid tanks. It was a thoughtful and directed decision not because "Holy wasn't cutting it" by any means.
Disco isn't anything supremely new to me, I've played the spec before through Ulduar progression. I still consider myself to be a Holy Priest at heart. Just a holy priest taking on for the team now...

I pulled a muscle in my neck because our tank for PoS (random from a different server) ninjed my Nevermelting Ice Crystal :|
I've yet to see that !@#$ing trinket drop, yet three of my other guildmates have it =/
Also, @OP, If the paladin can't keep his/her mana up with Sanc and Divine Plea, he/she fails epically. On my pally tank, I'm usually always above 90% mana, with just those two.

Last night, A bear tank going through H OK, Basically chain pulling the entire instance like he was going to get permafrost if he stood still. I got held up on the terrain after the fungus boss, and the dps and tank were just merrily going on back to the elementals, tank died and said "Are you going to heal me at all?"
in hind sight he might have been refering to the shaman dps....as it was I was just approaching the group and decided to respond "not if your that arrogant about it" and /left

My sympathies are with you. Luckily for me my priest isn't my main (was in BC, decided to make my mage my main in this xpac) so i don't have to make such god awful sacrifices. I will continue to hope that your guild is blessed with an application from an outstanding discipline priest so you can return to your true spec.

heh thanks for the sympathies. I don't mind doing what is necessary for my guild. If ANYTHING, I would love to change over to become a mindless DPS-Zombie... Mmmm... DPSing...
Only THREE rules: Stay out of the bad stuff, get into the good stuff, hit the right target. So much easier than healing!
I do enjoy healing though simply because it isn't so mindless. ;-) catch 23 (yeah, 1 more than a catch 22!)

Not that this is the guild recruitment forum, but if you'd like to App, we are X Vainglory on Alexstrasza, we raid at 7AM Server time (the ONLY morning raiding guild on the realm!). That means if you're in the USA, that's 7AM Central Standard Time. 8AM if you're in New York, like me! I'm the GM.
