Welcome to my Q&A thread. I'm here to field any of your questions, and I do mean any (as long as they don't violate the wowhead ToS). Philosophical, religious, psychological, etc. Need advice? Curious about something? Just want to stump me? Ask anything!

You have a brain tumor. Though there is no discomfort at the moment, this tumor would unquestionably kill you in six months. However, your life can (and will) be saved by an operation; the only downside is there will be a brutal incision to your frontal lobe. After the surgery, you will be significantly less intelligent. You will be a fully functioning adult, but you will be less logical, you will have a terrible memory, and you will have little ability to understand complex concepts of difficult ideas. The surgery is in two weeks. How do you spend the next fourteen days?

The parameters of mental comprehension are not well defined in the question. What does 'less logical' or 'fully functional' mean? Taking these just at face value, and placing an arbitrary value to them, I will attempt to answer:
I would dictate a book in 14 days detailing my life's experiences, political/social views, religious views, and other various thoughts. Beyond that, I would be looking at job security. My current employment is only secured through logical thought. I have no higher education or certifications. Without my logic and innate ability to outthink problems, I might be no longer needed. I would have to write letters to the company detailing my dillemma, and ask for a position that would be fitting. I may have to speak to a lawyer about what that would entail. I currently have disability insurance, so it is good to know that my income won't change.
I would also spend a lot of time interacting with my family, and discussing what I want them to do in certain circumstances. I don't want to be to much of a burden, and I think having a support network of family and church would help in the long run.
Good first question!

Oooh! Oooh! I have one!
*clears throat* Do you seriously feel that high & mighty about yourself that you feel other people want to know more about you in such a sense that you offer yourself up for an interview, or are you just trolling?
I'm guessing all of the above.

MyTie, do you know the density of baking soda?
This was from my first encounter with you in vent. :3
The question is not what the density of baking soda is, but if I know what it is. The answer is 'no'.Now, if you have countless religions all claiming to know the "objective" morals, which ones are they? Truth is, religious morals are only objective within the context of their own religion; but religion does not provide absolute truths, nor truly objective morals. Are there even any objective morals to be had?The 'objective' morals would be the morals applied by an omnipotent being, not by an organized religion. The 'subjective' morals would only be applicable in the case of abscence of the former.*clears throat* Do you seriously feel that high & mighty about yourself that you feel other people want to know more about you in such a sense that you offer yourself up for an interview, or are you just trolling?The question, it appears, is why would I make this thread. The proposed answers, which you tried to fit into the question, are that I am 'high and mighty' or 'feel others want to know more about me'. The truth is, that I thought it would be fun and entertaining to see what questions people would come up with. /sigh... I have to wonder about people that
know
all about me.

I'm here to field any of your questions, and I do mean any (as long as they don't violate the wowhead ToS).
On Twin Earth, a brain in a vat is at the wheel of a runaway trolley. There are only two options that the brain can take: the right side of the fork in the track or the left side of the fork. There is no way in sight of derailing or stopping the trolley and the brain is aware of this, for the brain
knows
trolleys. The brain is causally hooked up to the trolley such that the brain can determine the course which the trolley will take.
On the right side of the track there is a single railroad worker, Jones, who will definitely be killed if the brain steers the trolley to the right. If the railman on the right lives, he will go on to kill five men for the sake of killing them, but in doing so will inadvertently save the lives of thirty orphans (one of the five men he will kill is planning to destroy a bridge that the orphans' bus will be crossing later that night). One of the orphans that will be killed would have grown up to become a tyrant who would make good utilitarian men do bad things. Another of the orphans would grow up to become G.E.M. Anscombe, while a third would invent the pop-top can.
If the brain in the vat chooses the left side of the track, the trolley will definitely hit and kill a railman on the left side of the track, "Leftie" and will hit and destroy ten beating hearts on the track that could (and would) have been transplanted into ten patients in the local hospital that will die without donor hearts. These are the only hearts available, and the brain is aware of this, for the brain
knows
hearts. If the railman on the left side of the track lives, he too will kill five men, in fact the same five that the railman on the right would kill. However, "Leftie" will kill the five as an unintended consequence of saving ten men: he will inadvertently kill the five men rushing the ten hearts to the local hospital for transplantation. A further result of "Leftie's" act would be that the busload of orphans will be spared. Among the five men killed by "Leftie" are both the man responsible for putting the brain at the controls of the trolley, and the author of this example. If the ten hearts and "Leftie" are killed by the trolley, the ten prospective heart-transplant patients will die and their kidneys will be used to save the lives of twenty kidney-transplant patients, one of whom will grow up to cure cancer, and one of whom will grow up to be Hitler. There are other kidneys and dialysis machines available, however the brain does not know kidneys, and this is not a factor.
Assume that the brain's choice, whatever it turns out to be, will serve as an example to other brains-in-vats and so the effects of his decision will be amplified. Also assume that if the brain chooses the right side of the fork, an unjust war free of war crimes will ensue, while if the brain chooses the left fork, a just war fraught with war crimes will result. Furthermore, there is an intermittently active Cartesian demon deceiving the brain in such a manner that the brain is never sure if it is being deceived.
Which way should the brain choose? Left or right?

Which way should the brain choose? Left or right?
Right side. The brain has it in for Jones, after he asked too many silly questions.
Edit: Besides, logically, the 5 men that Jones would kill would be people awaiting heart transplants in the hospital. What kind of guy DOES that?Do you prefer ketchup or mustard on your burger?mustard... definately. looots of mustard

In your opinion what would really happen if a unstoppable force met a immovable object?
Also this math is correct right?
x=0.999....
10x=9.999....
10x-x=9.999....-0.999.......
9x=9
x=1
1=0.999.....
A better question: Is there really such thing as an unstoppable force or immovable object?
And the math is correct...
