If he is good player I dont mind his age. During WoLK I was bored so went level up my warrior via dungeon. I met one pally healer who was saying tank "
pull more I dont let you die
" Dungun was Howling Ford and tank intentionally pulled all adds in dragon room. Agrro was everywhere but noone died. I whispered him "
Nice healing m8
" After it we did few dengeon and shared a real id. Our guild was on HC LK only and he didnt killed normal LK. Nobody wanted to take him in guild because of his underage(12). He was in sucky guild in which he applied as 18 female raider and never speak on vent. I asked him to do server transfer if he can afford it and he did. He was one the best healer in our guild. He learned different aspect of raiding while raids.

Folks,
I'm 51, and both my sons use to play (19 and 13 years old).
My oldest son got me interested about 3 years ago.
The real question is, should your kids let their parents play. (lol)

People of all ages do play video games, however the game should be age appropriate. This game is much too violent for young children. There's also drinking, dancing naked, chat, teabagging, etc that goes on regularly. If you just read trade chat for 5 minutes... I can't imagine any parent who would think that is appropriate conversation for their children to participate in. I have no doubt that younger players can play the game skillfully, I just don't think it is good for them to play it.
ever watched the evening news, which has no rating?
Kids are exposed constantly to a reality far more violent than WoW.

It's technically illegal in the US for forums to allow individuals under the age of 13 to access their websites without a consent form from their parents (I think it has to be physical too). On GameFAQs, claiming to be under 13 is immediate grounds for a ban and the only way to reinstate one's account is uploading a pic of one's holographic ID, with the name used on the account.
With WoW, the parent can simply sign their child up.

I wouldn't allow anyone under 18 in a guild that I ran. Even in the guilds I dont run, there's a good chance that you're going to log into guild chat where the topic is something out of a Jenna Haze movie.
So. No.
anyone starting such discussions in my guild would get 1 warning, and 1 warning only.
Second time, they're kicked from the guild, no further warnings.
I don't want anything to do with such things, as an adult.

The stupidity of our younger generation is the fault of the parents.
Hippies don't push their kids hard enough.
Losers who try to make their kids have the social life they never had, regardless of whether they want it or not.
Idiot parents with genius children, who stifle their intelligence so that they would have the "High school experience" that everyone needs. Apparently.
If a parent is calm and logical about raising their child, they get called an emotionless &^&%.
Worst still, the mothers get into large groups, where they push and control each other into becoming terrible parents. They must do what the group says, otherwise the children get mocked in school, simply because the parent told them to.
So true. I wish I could +rep you for this.

How big is the broom that you use for sweeping generalisations?
This is only a list of your opinions, not facts.

Being a kid does not make one bad.
I think it should depend on the player not the age. I started playing when i was 13 years old. And i never got ^&*! from anyone AT ALL. It was like... they didn't notice.
I agree that parents should judge on how mature the child is before letting them play. But when they get 12 years they often are old enough to try. I mean how are you supposed to learn?
I just found out about a guildie of mine that he is 13 years old (who's an awesome tank). I didn't expect that at all.
Bring the player not the age :P

I'm looking forward to teaching my son how to play baseball. My wife can't wait for him to be old enough to sit at a pottery wheel. I think it's natural to want to share your interests and teach things to your children. I think as long as you're experiencing things together, not replacing tons of other activities with it, and not using it as a baby sitter there's nothing wrong with playing with your kids. Especially in your case that it seems like there are a lot of parents in your guild that might be more willing and able to deal with children throwing an occasional fit. The days of video games as being evil wasteful things that only dorks with no lives play have long since past, so if anything you involving your children and teaching them how to play responsibly before they turn into CoD addicts might even be a good thing.

While it is not bad to let a child play a video game, it is however a bad idea not to use some time schedule or restriction how long they play. The younger the child is, the more attention he will require so you can make sure he learns to have discipline and good behaviour then he gets older. He is after all only 7 years old so the atmosphere in wow could influence him badly in other real life situation.
Children of that age is usually not strong willed and quiet easily manipulated, so I would let him play under a watchful eye. Also keep it to a hour to 2 hour a day, and let him go out and be a kid the rest of the time.
At older age, he could get more freedom with his playtime under the agreement he will do his schoolwork and other social activities not damaged by playing too much. Aslong you got custody over him, you should make sure he follows the house rule and let him grow up to be a fine adult.
I do agree with some about many just letting children run haywire and then they wonder, why they are such a mess in real life.
Lastly, letting a kid just run a high level dungeon without any experience was a stupid idea in the first place. If you want him to try wow, just make a new character for him and let him try the game out and see if he even likes it. Wow has drastically changed since it first launch, so leveling a char is really dumb easy and death is not easy now even.
