Hey guys, I play a Druid and a Paladin and now my little brother is hitting 80.
Now I know the basics of rogues and how to level but level 80 is a different kind of cake, I dont know how spreadsheets work so I have a few basic questions:
What is the
BEST
PvE spec and what rotation goes along with it?
What's the hitcap for rogues? any other caps? (expertise?)
What are the best PvE weapons? Maces still? (I only knew rogues well in TBC)
What are THE best glyphs?
ArP > Agi?
Thanks in advance!
DZN and bro

If you don't want to mess with spreadsheets and keep acting like an arrogant fella and ignore people's correct advice, you are going to suck at rogue DPS.

honestly, that guide is about as good as it gets. you have to be willing to do a little research and figuring out for yourself (everyone's got a different play style!) if you want to be any amount of successful with any class.

Sigh.. if you guys would READ you'd understand that it's NOT my character.. I'm trying to help my little brother here.. I dont want to go into hours of researc, when there are people who can answer these questions from the top of their head :/

So what your saying is, you want to help your brother. But not so much help as learning the info for him then teach him, you would rather only help him so much as to hassle the rogue community with your laziness.
Man you are a good brother!

2. You want to aim to get as close to white hit cap as possible, especially as a combat spec. White hits have the chance to proc Combat Potency, and more white hits = more energy = more damage out! If you go Mutilate spec, don't worry about much expertise, as most daggers have loads of expertise on them.
3. Sword spec > all. You want two fast swords to try to proc the free swings (2x Hailstorms are pro).
5. Much like BC, gem for hit unless you need to activate a meta (or its a *really* good socket bonus, like more hit). Gem for ArP in those cases.
Wrong. Very much unlike BC, hit rating has dropped in value mostly due to poisons now scaling with AP and the change to windfury totem. Above the special hit cap both agility and attack power provide more dps than hit. You should never gem hit. To gem armor penetration you need to have a certain amount of it on your gear already since the value of ArP rises the more ArP you have. Generally the point where armor pen starts to outperform agility/ap is near best-in-slot gear levels.
And swords haven't been the best choice since BC. Due to itemization reasons CQC fist/dagger reigned supreme until ToC.

Clearly I should make disinformation posts more obvious.
One would think the reference to Hemo and Shiv spam rotations, and disregarding Expertise as Mute spec would've given it away ;)
