Hello. I'm kinda new to this, and I want to PVP as Frost.
I read the stickies, and played with the talent calculator, coming to rest on this:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#of0icz0cZZAI0Isbu0bdg0st
Any suggestions on how to improve it, or is it ok?

i'd have to agree with tarzansm.. Fingers of frost is too critical to pass up for a deep frost build. It lets you cast deep freeze on someone who's not nova'd in place.. it lets you shatter-bomb someone when they're not frozen in place.
Brain freeze is a nice talent simply because it's a mana free instant cast spell.. burst is something strangely lacking in frost mages, and that just helps it.. Imp. counterspell is a personal choice, but indeed it can come in handy when going against any kind of healing class.

Just use
this
. You're Missing some very important talents like improved counterspell, fingers of frost, and brain freeze. You also missed frost warding, winter's chill, and magic attunement, which help a lot.

I changed it around a little bit.
I don't see the need for frostwarding. 50% extra armor makes little difference, considering I'd die pretty fast in melee anyway. I already have 80 resistance from magic absorption anyway.
The absorption effect on frostwarding is incredibly situational, and I find the other talents of more use.
I'd rather have the damage boost and avoidance of Arctic winds, rather than the small and somewhat hard to pull off crit boost of winter's chill.
I put one point into improved counterspell, because torment the weak seemed more important to max.
I don't like brain freeze for a few reasons.
A) Fireball won't gain all of my talented damage boosts.
B) One extra blast doesn't seem terribly critical
C) I don't think I'd notice and shoot the fireball most of the time in the heat of pvp.

Improved cone of cold was only in the last one because I needed another point to advance.
Since everyone seems to love Winter's Chill so much, I replaced arctic winds with it.

I just have to comment on this.
First of all 30 % chance to negate warded damage is not the waste of 2 points, I mean in nearly 80 % of all my 3v3 fights I get the use of this talent. The resistance wont help u against a DK frost striking you or a hunter explosive shot you.
futhermore u avoid winters chil in the favour of artic winds. Winters chill give you the crit u need for ur frost bolt, cous there is no way u gonna gem or enchant crit as a frost mage, cous haste and SP is more surperior. The winter chill effect is also needed when u protect ur sheep against dispel.
Besides that u should only put one talent into enduring winter to get the replenishment buff. even tho it only procs 33 % it's will nearly always ticking on you. U should only spec 2 points into enduring winter if u wanna get the 3rd shatter combo from ranged frost nova.
Only 1 point into imp. CS ? im speechless.
A) Ur fireball is like the needed burst damage u need when there is no shatter and it still gain from ur torment the weak talent and from ur spell impact talent that you from some strange reason decided not to spec into.
B) You better try play RMP or RM and tell me that once again when u face cleavelol.
C) Get an addon that tells you when it procs if ur too lazy.

Please read all the posts before responding. I have these issues resolved in the latest build.
It's just ridiculous: all the disbelief and cries of "obvious!".
I'm new to the game, of course there are going to be errors.
That's exactly why I made this thread to ask for advice.
However, I'm sorry if I don't blindly follow your advice.
And every build I make I have had spell impact, and everyone else whined about not having magic attunement >_>
Also, I do not plan on doing arenas. Battlegrounds look like more fun to me.

You should have like 2 points in both spell impact and magic attunement. magic attunement is needed even tho u may play with a healer cous of the exstra range for ur CS and polymorph.
There is no reason for building a spec for BG's cous there is no way ur spec is gonna change the outcome or be the different between winning or losing. BG is mostly just a bunch of noobs (if it's not premade ofc.) running around having no clue about team play. The team who got the most players or most DK's will probably win.
Build ur spec aiming for arena cous that is the place ur left alone with ur 1 or 2 partners and then ur spec WILL make the different between winning or losing.

grumms u seriously think 10 dks' is a good team fro wsg?
i'd like to see 10 mages vs 10 dks' as the dk's just get slaughtered.
That was a pretty bad example, cous frost mages counter DK's pretty hard 1v1.
Never heard of BG's where u know the enemies before joining.
