so from lookin at this thread i was wonderin.would i have to gem different if i went dw frost
cuz right now(i can provide my armory if anyone is curious)im pretty much just gemming +str.but ive heard like dw frost hitcap is like 440 or somethin and my hit rating is only 271(its actually 337 with 2 reaper of dark soul 1h swords).cuz im in 2pc T.85 2 pc T.75
im just wondering because im planning on dual specing this week and trying out dual wield frost.actually,i was just thinkin would it be better to train 1 hand maces and try gettin dual aledar's battlestar from crusaders coliseum(i try to find a party for the 5 man heroic like everyday) or just stick with the knights of ebon blade 1h swords til i can get somethin better.actually, would 2 of those maces from argent tournament be better? thinkin about gettin 1h mace skill and lvlin it up and just usin 2 of those
if you're a blacksmith, or you know one, make yourself
this
for your main hand and stick with the ebon blade sword in your offhand.. these two make for a couple really good, easy to get starter weapons for dual wielding that give good damage output. the
colleseum mace
is a good upgrade, and if you can get your hands on two aledar's battlestar, then by all means go for it.

i used to be blacksmithing profession.but i hated lvling it so i switched to jewelcrafting
but ya,im thinkin about just using the
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45203
and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44250
for starters until i can find better stuff thru trial of the champion or whatever
well you could do the titansteel bonecrusher along with the grimhorn crusher (it's the horde version of the ironforge smasher, i just couldn't remember the name of it when i linked earlier).
the titansteel bonecrusher is a better dps weapon than the sword from the ebon blade, but if you have problems affording or collecting the mats then yes, you could use the sword. either way, they could both be replaced by the aledar's battlestar.

@biohazzard - unholy DW is equal to DW Frost the major difference is a fast offhand. The best 2h spec right now is Blood - Frost 2h can be done, but it's such a waste of talents and doesn't scale well at all.
@sint - 53/18 has huge threat issues if you have enough hit and haste it's a great scaling usage, but the threat on it is almost 2k more than 3/53/15. The difference in dps is closer to 1 percent for most DW DK it's not till you get ulduar 25 level gear that BcB surpasses Subversion.
@Mittoo - 300 hit is around 9 percent. Where did you get that number from? 11 percent is the minimum for horde and 10 percent for alliance in raids. Higher hit and haste scales wonderfully for Necrosis and BcB. If you are seeing a loss of dps and don't have the gear for unholy subspec try the blood subspec now listed on the first page.
@billets - DW fast weapons is a severe gimping of your dps. Get the argent tournament of Ebon hold rep ones. A slow heroic weapon is worth more dps wise than your fast ones. The problem with Glyph of IT usage is that you will never use all of your runic power so it could possibly be considered a waste. I like it, but favor glyph of disease for raiding.
@totemmunkey - Glyph of BS is extremely reliant on raid setup and having a snare effect and not just a slow. We have one in Chains of Ice, but that's a cost of a rune for a 20 percent increase in a rather weak attak.
@rocketw - 2H Frost dps will not scale well as you continue on. You will see a larger portion of your dps on mobs and will be far behind a smart DW Frost build on single targets. I am pulling 2k dps as a single disease tank, and could see pulling 3-4k as a single disease 2h frost. However I am pulling well over 3k on bosses that I am undergeared for. DW just scales better than 2h. Dual disease benefits Obliterate and BS though BS is extremely weak - Obliterate is so much better than FS now it's not even worth debating. Look at your recount stats, Oblit crits higher and hits harder especially on dual diseases. Single disease was meant for HB. BTW with much worse gear and DW dual disease on Sath I am pulling close to 4.5k. I about the same dps in worse gear with DW dual disease. The key is maximizing your best attacks.

@pichu - If you want the numbers go to
www.elitistjerks.com
. They do the math it comes out to about 700 dps difference once you get the gear to effectively DW unholy subspec - and it gets even higher the better your gear gets.
@bilny - I have no idea what your post said. DW Frost rotation is smooth once you get rolling especially on limited movement fights. It's definitely not as smooth as the old single disease HB rotation on aoe or movement fights. Chill of the Grave is okay, personally I go 1 point there and 1 point in UBA.
@flassk - Why are you using HB? HB should be used on rime/km procs only. You are wasting an unholy rune and not applying your second disease thereby gimping your Obliterate. Dual disease is significantly higher in dps than single disease since the patch as well as being a huge increase to Obliterates damage. In fact Obliterate dual disease is so good now that Unholy dps is now an obliterate tree. Not using dual disease now is exactly what you said a lazy rotation that gimps your dps.

I have updated the first thread to reflect Blood subspec builds for lower geared players. Let me make this clear Necrosis is a beautiful talent that procs off every strike and there is no ppm on it so it could conceivably proc all the time. It procs off FS/BS/OB/Mellee and anything else that would require a strike or swing. It also has been known to proc off RI hits. It's not supposed to proc off them, but I have seen it. I will double check tonight to verify it, but Necrosis has counted as 4 percent of my dps for 5 points that's pretty good. It's main source is your melee damage so anything that benefits auto attack benefits necrosis, so the higher your hit and haste the more powerful Necrosis becomes.
As for those recommending not getting hit past 8 percent, Let me make this clear. Hit past 8 percent does not benefit any specials. However it is still a nice increase in dps once you cross 17 percent for spell hit (untalented) than the increase in hit only benefits Melee/RI/Necrosis/BcB. Please stop stating that getting more than 8 percent is not useful that's just ignorant.
Gemming will not change Strength is still the best dps per stat out there as long as you are over 11 percent hit. Enchanting will change though as plus 20 hit to gloves and Icewalker are now very nice enchants.
@foshizzle - get the Argent Tournament ones until you can get a good pvp weapon or perhaps the ToTC weapon. I am running with Razorscale and Argent Tournament, but I am gunning for that mace from ToTC

@Raulnor - your link isn't working. However. Weapon DPS is based on Damage per Second. Faster weapons tend to have a high weapon dps, while slower weapons tend to be lower. You can have 2 weapons with the same Weapon DPS, but different Weapon damage it's rare, but I have seen it. I like weapons with high top-end Damage, but getting a weapon with high starting and ending is even better.
As for gemming and enchanting, I will try to finish it up today. It requires more work and research into it than it did before. I am thinking of skipping the gear, and just listing gems and enchants. Should be fun.

@Raul - yes it's the 286-552 numbers not the 203.1 dps that is important.
@Halladar - weapons are easily found and there is 3 threads based on gear already. I don't want to make this a laborious thing to get through. As for the hit, I guess i wasn't very clear in the thread. I will reedit and try to be clearer, but to answer your question.
8% - Melee's Special hit cap.
10% - Alliance Spell hit cap if raiding with Draenei/Boomkin/Shadowpriest - must have all 3.
11% - Horde spell hit cap if raiding with Boomkin and Shadowpriest (Misery and Fairie Fire)
14% - DK spell hit cap if specced into Virulence
17% - unbuffed and untalented Spell hit cap
21% - Melee DW white hit cap
The goal is to get your melee hit cap to around 11-15 percent so your spell hit will go up by 3 percent from Virulence and you will be fine even without a raiding boomkin and shadowpriest
