Male toon (and Draenei on top of it), female player.
She's in my guild, so i can say I know her.
I think she also has a couple male alts.

Lastly, Blood elf males are more feminine then their female counterparts so in the end I know I made the right decision.
Agreed, but the animation for Ret as far as BE female Paladins go is atrocious, and you have to see it each 6 seconds!

... so very many males opt to play female characters. Why do you think this is? I'd like to figure out exactly what makes the ratio so skewed.
Everyone in my guild has at least one toon of each gender. Including the women who are members.
I suspect that most women don't broadcast the fact that they're female. They get very tired of the guys constantly hitting on them.

Because guys think the girl toons look cool and sexy, whereas girls probably don't think that about the guy toons (at least I've never heard of it). Although there are a few girls who play guy toons just to hide their gender in game.

In addition to all the other reasons mentioned, I'd like to throw down this one: it's probable that many people roll only females of certain races because some of the male models are grotesquely misproportioned. ;)
All the female models are reasonably well-proportioned, dwarves and gnomes aside (and that's how they're
supposed
to be). But some of the male ones are pretty out there. Male orcs? Whenever I rolled one I just couldn't stop staring at the huge veins on their gargantuan steroid-user forearms. So now I only roll female orcs. Male humans likewise look pretty musclebound and apeish. It's the same with male night elves. And draenei? Male draenei look like blue goat Popeyes, who would want to roll that when they could roll a female draenei?
So right off the bat that's four races I'd only roll females for. By contrast, there's only two races I'd only roll males for... dwarves and tauren. And those are more subjective.
You think the human females with triple d breasts, hips too large for any layzboy chair while having ankles a child could close his fist around are porportionate?

Once again, I have to say that looks count for me here. I have 3 toons, 3 female.
Rolling female toons has its advantages. It seems to be easier to find a group to join with female toons. Easier on the eyes, considering how much I play as well.
The downside is, whenever I help a stranger with a monster or a quest, the party, unbeknownst to them, assumes that the me, the player is also female, and refers to me as milady or something.
Freaky. I've gotten letters from creepy players saying we should hook up and play again sometime, but I guess it comes with the territory. So play whatever you want, just be prepared to deal with all the lonely weirdos and maybe the uncomfortable feeling in the pants :)!
My friend gets the opposite.
She plays a female and is still referred to as a guy.
