The changes that Blizzard continues to make all seem to have a common theme. Blizzard is making it easier to level up and gear up alts. The leveling process has repeatedly been shortened, and now the process of gearing up for end-game content is being made easier.
Personally I love the changes, as I love to have the option of leveling up a new character and running new(er) content with that character without spending
months
leveling and gearing.
To be honest, I think most people are probably like me and that's what Blizzard knows. It's natural to get bored with one character and want to play others. But if that prospect is too daunting people may just quit.
Making it easier to level and play alts is an easier way for them to keep the game fresh than constantly having to release new content.
I disagree. I am a casual player and I only play one character and a few lvl 70 to 80 alts. My main is a druid and both my Main spec and Off Spec are filled with Naxx25 and Uldar 10 gear. I work hard for it(although to some ppl is a joke). I wipe many many times and have to run them many many times to get the items I got today. With this patch, blizzard is saying to me"HAHAH NOOB ALL THE WORK U DIE BEFORE IS ALL GONE NOW!". Many ppl are in the same boat as me. Our gear is not the best yet is still decent. We casual raider don't play a lot and we like to be rewarded with the gear we can get coz we turly work hard on.
With this patch any newly lvl 80 or those fail noobs that spam in trade chat or the noob that have no idea how to gear this toon or what spec to to use will be getting better gear than us "Causal radiers" which blizzard said is to make our game play easier. Well it is not. It made us look like dummies. Why did I bother to raid naxx25 or even Uldar 10 when I know I could face roll heorics and get better gear then what raids have to offer?
This change is not to help casual player or casual raiders. This patch is to help the dummies or the noobs who are too lazy to raid or have no idea how to play thier class and wipe the raids 10 times straight and blame it on others.
Keep it up blizzard. Next patch you will most likely make it so anyone can create a lvl 80 with a buttom and it will be in full T12 and raids onlyg ive out T9.
There are two main problems with this position.
One, you want the game to be static, but MMORPGs will never be static. The model itself forces the designers to constantly release new material if they don't want their game to die.
This necessarily makes the old material obsolete.
Second, everyone pays the same fee for the game. There is no reason why someone who isn't as good at raiding should never get to see that content. There is no inherent reason why the difficulty of the raids should remain the same forever.
These changes are exactly like the ones Blizzard has been making
since they released the game
.
Raids have repeatedly been dumbed down some time after their release
, to open up the content that Blizzard worked so hard on to more players.
The better players have their time in the sun for a little while when new content is released. If you're particularly good you may even get some server firsts. But the goalposts will then be moved, to keep you playing, and the older content will be opened up to new players. It's inexorable. Just accept it.
The flip side to this is that the
total time required
to experience Blizzard's latest content (with a new character) continually goes up. So they contually make the leveling process shorter and shorter. Otherwise, it would eventually take so many hours to get to raid the latest dungeon, that most people wouldn't bother. Some would cancel their accounts.
Blizzard has found the right balance between keeping the two main types of players. For the "cutting-edge" raider types (very loosely defined) there is always something new coming out. For the "alt-aholics" (like me) the leveling process isn't too much of a grind.
Personally I don't care when Blizzard releases new raid dungeons because I play the game for PvP and, to a lesser extent, heroics. But I don't have a problem with them doing that for other types of player. Similarly, you shouldn't have a problem with them catering a little to casuals (or, if you like, "non-raiders") by making the leveling/gearing process easier.

LOL so what's the point of doing naxx10 naxx25 10os 10 voa or even 10 uldar when ppl can run heroics and get better gear that what is being offer by raids which is suppose to be harder than heroics thus better drops.
I honestly cannot believe you are discussing, with imaginary personas, changes in an imaginary world, and asking what the point of it is. You are either extremely stupid, or extremely deep.
There is no point. The only point is recreation. Do what makes you happy. if it doesn't make you happy, do something else.
By the time most casual players who run 1-3 heroics a day, 2-3 days a week, have collected enough gear for their 6 purchasable patches, I will have cleared the Colosseum and be in full t9.5
Everyone who understands this, cares very little for this change.
ps. Can you link your armories please? i want to laugh at your characters
Eff-ing A man.... I haven't laughed that hard in a while... way to be ROFL!
