I realise the wording there was a bit sloppy on my part.
Basically 1 expertise skill reduces the chance to be dodged or parried by 0.25%.
It doesnt remove one or the other first. So basically 1 expertise skill reduces the chance that your attacks are avoided by 0.5% (up until dodge cap)
As a retadin you'd only want to get 26 expertise skill to remove dodges. Since mobs cant parry from behind. Which is were you should be, behind.
As a paladin tank expertise really isn't that desirable. Both STR and hit are better for threat.
I will rephrase the expertise explanation.

svirve, just checking in here, because I needed to look up something for a resilience question.
Why isn't resilience consistent between PvE and PvP %'s?
Post by
svirve
The PvE percentage is to become uncrittable to attacks from bosses.
The PvP percentage is the real cap were stacking more resilience will not reduce the amount of damage done by a critical strike.
Though all the other features scale all the way to 100%
Or am i missing your point? oO

Resilience(PVP): 33% or 1230 resilience rating
Resilience(PVE): 5.6% or 460 resilience rating
460 / 5.6 = 82.1 rating per 1%
1230/33 = 37.3 rating per 1%
That's more what I was wondering...

Aaah.
You need 81.97 rating in order to get a 1% critical chance reduction.
And you need 37.25 rating in order to get a 1% critical strike damage reduction.
It should take 2.2 times more resilience to get 1% critical chance & dot damage reduction than it takes to get 1% crit damage & mana drain reduction.

Gotcha. Thanks for that! =)
On a side note.... why is crit rating, despite its redundancy, considered holy specific? ;p
Post by
svirve
Holy is the only talent spec likely to "stack" crit rating.
Any protadin that goes out of his way to get crit should be smacked in the head.
And retadins only want ~30%. So even with the changes to 3.2 holy paladins will be the only ones likely to aim for crit heavy gear.
It's more a matter of were it would be best placed than that it's specific to that spec :)
Edit:
It also looked kinda weak with ret and prot having 5 caps each and holy only one so adding it there looked better ;p

You understand that this was a wasted post. It will be completely ignored.
Good write up though.
Nice work

Now even more gramatically correct!
Also added wowwiki links that give a more in depth explanation of the various "caps" and how they work.
P.S.
I got kicked off the front page QQ.

Nothing new to add for 3.2
Just thought i'd put it there so people dont think this is getting outdated.
Post by
svirve
Fixed resilience since it reduces all damage and not just dot damage since 3.2
Also added the new values for it since it now requires 15% more resilience to get the same effect.

Updated the ArP section in light of the 3.2.2 nerf.

I noticed that the melee crit cap according to this guide is 75%. Altho over at EJ, they claim (in some thread i dont remember right now) that the amount of glancing blows on bosses are 24%, thus putting the melee crit cap at 76%.
(As if it matters at those levels of gear.)
