It's only a necessity because someone else currently has it.

The North Koreans are totally playing it how I would have expected... make your opponents believe you're more powerful than you are, and then use that fear to threaten them into doing what you want.

Someone needs to totally go in and put them in check. Teach them not to try and bully someone bigger than them.

Does it use heat to break the bond?
And how much electricity? If all you have to do is electrocute water and filter out bottles of hydrogen, and you can do sell the bottled hydrogen for more than it costs to electrocute the water and filter the byproducts... it could be a business venture...
It will be one day, if these hydrogen fuel cell vehicles go mainstream and there is demand for hydrogen. You'll go to the gas station and the station will electrocute some water for ya and fill your car up with hydrogen. The vehicles are a lot better than electric because their range is a lot further. But the technology is still in development.
Electricity to do that conversion will probably origionate from a nuclear power plant. Now, question: What will we do with nuclear waste in the future?

What about hydrogen bombs? Aren't those much stronger than the atom or nuclear bomb? Why do countries keep these weapons? Why does anyone? Are we so naive to think we'll be able to launch one without retaliation of one back at us? It's all suicidal to keep or use these weapons. I don't understand it, and Einstein himself said the creation of the atom bomb would only lead to greater destruction.

I was taught that there is no such thing as an insulator, just really bad conductors. Pump enough electricty into anything and will will conduct.
Conversely, you can say that there are no conductors, just poor insulators. Everything will prevent the flow of electricity to a degree.
The real thing holding back hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is the hydrogen supply grid. It's a chicken and the egg scenario, you can't have the cars without a fuel supply network, and no one wants to invest in a network with a demand for it.
Agreed, which is the reason we are getting hybrid cars now.

Because someone else already has them.
Send it into space with a rocket?
Too risky, send it to the sun imo.

Hmmm.... Your very close to figureing out why yourself. Just think a little more. "Are we so naive to think we'll be able to launch one without retaliation of one back at us?" - That is exactly what our enemies are thinking. The only thing that keeps them thinking that is that we have nukes. It is called 'deterance'.
@Maurice - Wouldn't sending it into space via rocket be a little energy intensive? And where are you getting the rocket fuel? Aren't you defeating the point of not using fossil fuels?
